Divisional supremacy is a thing in the NFL. It's not as important to pro football as conference supremacy is to college football, but it exists enough to warrant power rankings.

The NFC West topped our list for most of the season and Von Miller, who reps the AFC champion Broncos and is set to play the NFC West in 2014, told the 49ers team site he agrees with the estimation.

"It’s definitely the toughest division in the NFL," Miller said. "I'm looking forward to playing all those guys. I’m looking forward to playing the whole NFC West with Seattle, the Rams and the Cardinals and just going out and competing with those guys."

The Broncos got all they could handle from the Seahawks last year: Seattle handled Denver in the preseason and postseason, the latter leaving a mark on the Broncos season. (Not so much here, or here ... but right ... here.)

This year they'll get even more, with matchups against every team in the NFC West.

If there was a reason to believe Peyton Manning's video game numbers from 2013 can't be repeated, it's because he's going against the best collection of defenses any division can offer.

On the other hand, if the Broncos emerge relatively unscathed from their matchups against the best division in football, both the offense and defense will be well-tested for the postseason.
