WATCH: J.J. Watt smashes batting practice home run
J.J. Watt can hit a baseball very far.
Ten months ago, Lions receiver Calvin Johnson wowed fans with his ability to hit batting-practice home runs with the Detroit Tigers. On Friday, Texans defensive end J.J. Watt wanted to prove that defenders can hit BP pitching as well as anybody.
That’s what happened Friday night, when Watt, who will throw out the first pitch on Sunday, took some swings with the Houston Astros. Watch what happened.
Of course, you don’t actually see the ball clear the fence in the video provided by KHOU.com, but the enthusiastic “Yeah!” you hear from an onlooker will let you know which of Watt’s swings sent the ball screaming.
According to CSN Houston, Watt played baseball only until his sophomore year of high school -- which makes the report that Watt went yard five times during BP, including three in a row, even more impressive.
