Sunday night's Saturday Night Live special celebrating the show's 40th anniversary featured Peyton Manning making jokes about hits to his head during the Steve Martin psuedo-hosted open. But it wasn't Manning's last appearance.

The Broncos quarterback and Yankees legend Derek Jeter appeared together on stage later to present a clip show of the best sports moments from the show's 40 years.

"You know you must have accomplished something if you're asked to come and totally humiliate yourself on Saturday Night Live," Manning joked. "I mean, they made me peg an 8-year-old in the face with a football."

Jeter than fired a shot across Manning's hosting bow.

"But it usually works out great," Jeter said. "My episode is universally considered the best one ever hosted by an athlete."

Manning fired back "I'm not so sure that's true" while making the same face he has anytime someone asks him about his lack of arm strength
