New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson has gotten off to a slow start in his NFL career. Wilson has completed just 39 of 70 passes (55.7 percent) for 468 yards (6.7 per attempt) through two games, while throwing two touchdowns and five interceptions, and taking a league-high 10 sacks.

He was off to a dreadful start against the Carolina Panthers in Week 1 (he opened the game 1 of 6 for 7 yards) before bouncing back to lead two late touchdown drives. His slow start against the division rival New England Patriots in Week 2 did not bounce back; instead, it snowballed into a four-interception performance that yielded a 37.0 passer rating on the day.

Not only did the results look bad, but they sounded bad at MetLife Stadium, where Wilson was booed by the home crowd early and often. Not that he's phased, however.

"I'm not paying attention to it," Wilson said, per the New York Post. "But they should be booing, right?"

Wilson was adamant that he did not see ghosts, like his predecessor, Sam Darnold, but admitted that he was trying to do too much. "I felt like there was a lack of rhythm," Wilson said. "When your first two passes are interceptions, it's tough to find that rhythm, you're not on the field much, all of a sudden the first quarter's over."

With left tackle Mekhi Becton out, Wilson's protection has been dramatically downgraded. As a result, he's been under pressure on an incredible 50 percent of his dropbacks so far this season. Four of his five interceptions, though, have been thrown from a clean pocket, according to Tru Media, so his struggles can't all be blamed on the protection in front of him. He's got to improve his decision-making to capitalize on the talent that made him the No. 2 pick in this year's NFL Draft.
