Browns' Kenny Britt: Logs one catch versus Ravens
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Britt caught one pass (two targets) for two yards during Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Ravens.

Leading up to Sunday's contest, coach Hue Jackson suggested that Britt's starting job may in jeopardy after a subpar performance in Week 1 that included a crucial drop late in the game. Britt did ultimately earn the start against the Ravens, but was on the field for just 59 percent of the team's offensive snaps and was only targeted twice. Rashard Higgins -- who was promoted from the practice squad earlier in the week -- saw 12 more snaps than Britt, which once again calls into question the veteran's wideout immediate future with the team. However, with Corey Coleman (hand) out indefinitely, it's tough to imagine that Britt won't see plenty of targets moving forward, especially against a suspect Colts' defense in Week 3.

Browns' Kenny Britt: Won't necessarily lose snaps
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Browns coach Hue Jackson said Britt will get his normal allotment of snaps Sunday in Baltimore,'s Pat McManamon reports.

Britt logged 52 of 66 offensive snaps Week 1 against Pittsburgh, but he only caught one pass for 13 yards on three targets and committed an ugly drop on what should have been at least a 20-yard gain. While the poor outing has left his role in some question, the Browns aren't exactly teeming with superior alternatives. No. 3 receiver Ricardo Louis is a 2016 fourth-round pick who produced only 5.7 yards per target as a rookie, while Kasen Williams, Sammie Coates and Reggie Davis were all picked up at the end of the preseason when their previous teams didn't want them. Britt should at least have another week or two to prove himself before his top-two role is in danger, though it does seem increasingly clear that Corey Coleman will be DeShone Kizer's preferred target.

Browns' Kenny Britt: Just one catch in team debut
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Britt hauled in only one of his three targets for 13 yards during Sunday's loss to the Steelers.

The Browns signed Britt to a four-year, $32.5 million contract this offseason to attempt to replace Terrelle Pryor, but the former Rams' wideout had a forgettable debut. He dropped a crucial pass in the middle of the field during the fourth quarter of Sunday's game and was pretty much nonexistent throughout the contest, and Mary Kay Cabot of reports that his starting job may be in jeopardy going forward. Third wideout Ricardo Louis -- who caught two passes despite playing just 16 snaps -- would likely start alongside Corey Coleman if coach Hue Jackson ultimately ends up making a change.

Browns' Kenny Britt: May face competition
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Head coach Hue Jackson hinted that Britt's starting job may not be safe, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "You're saying that [Britt]'s starting this week," said Jackson. "We don't know that. Let's see."

Britt played 52 of 66 offensive snaps Sunday against Pittsburgh, finishing with just one catch for 13 yards on three targets. Meanwhile, No. 3 wideout Ricardo Louis caught two of three targets for 32 yards, though he was limited to just 16 snaps as the Browns primarily used Duke Johnson from the slot in three-wide formations. Britt's contract and experience should give him a bit of a leash, but it isn't out of the question that Louis could push for a starting job if the veteran remains invisible. Corey Coleman looked like the team's clear No. 1 receiver, catching five of six targets for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Browns' Kenny Britt: Another one-catch tally Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Britt brought in one of two targets for 13 yards in Saturday's 13-9 preseason win over the Bucs.

The veteran wideout notched one catch for the third time in as many preseason contests, hauling in his 13-yard reception on the Browns' opening drive. Britt is expected to see heavy volume in the coming season regardless of who's under center, considering that the departed Terrell Pryor, Sr. was the subject of a whopping 140 targets as a primary receiver in head coach Hue Jackson's scheme.
