Chargers' Lance Kendricks: Lowest reception total of career
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks recorded just three receptions for 50 yards in 12 games with the Chargers this season.

The entirety of that meager production came during Weeks 3 and 4, in which Hunter Henry (knee), Virgil Green (groin) and Sean Culkin (knee) were all out. Kendricks would play just 26 offensive snaps from Week 6 onward and is likely on the tail end of a career that has spanned nine professional seasons.

Chargers' Lance Kendricks: Lone healthy TE standing
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks caught two of his three targets for 37 yards in the 30-10 win Sunday over the Dolphins.

It's a bit improbable, but Kendricks might have some bona fide fantasy value, at least in deep formats, after Sunday's contest which saw nominal starter Sean Culkin tear his Achilles in the second half. The Chargers surely will bring in a healthy body at some point, but with Virgil Green (groin) still on the mend and Hunter Henry (knee) expected to be out for another couple of weeks, Kendricks technically is the only healthy tight end on the roster at the moment and, at least throughout Sunday's contest, saw a substantial jump in playing time (38 of 67 snaps on offense).

Chargers' Lance Kendricks: Only TE to catch pass
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks corralled one of his two targets for 13 yards in the 27-20 loss Sunday to the Texans.

The good news: Kendricks was the only tight end to catch a pass Sunday. The bad news: both Sean Culkin (44) and Virgil Green (27) significantly out-snapped Kendricks (11) throughout the contest. Considering the veteran tight end joined the team last week, the less-than-ideal snap count should be expected, but it's at least worth monitoring as the Chargers try to get by without Hunter Henry (knee) for an extended period. Still, the extreme target share going to the likes of Keenan Allen, Mike Williams and Austin Ekeler each week likely handicaps any sort of fantasy output for Kendricks.

Chargers' Lance Kendricks: Signs with Chargers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks signed with the Chargers on Tuesday.

Kendricks joins Los Angeles with regular starter Hunter Henry (knee) out for 3-to-5 weeks with a tibia plateau fracture. The veteran is eligible to play in Week 3 after serving a suspension during the season opener as a member of the Patriots, but it remains to be seen what his role will be with his new team. Virgil Green and Sean Culkin are the only other active tight ends on the roster for the time being.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Let go by Pats
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks (suspension) was released by the Patriots on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Kendricks was suspended for Sunday's season opener for violating the NFL's policy and program on substances of abuse, and he'll return to free agency without taking a regular-season snap with the Patriots. The 31-year-old should be eligible to play Week 2 if he signs elsewhere, though he was also dealing with an undisclosed injury at the end of the preseason.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Suspended one game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks (undisclosed) will be suspended one game for violating the NFL's policy and program on substances of abuse, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

This suspension comes on top of an injury Kendricks picked up during the team's preseason contest Thursday.Mike Reiss of suggested the veteran tight end was already on the roster bubble prior to Saturday's announcement, with Ben Watson, Matt LaCosse and Stephen Anderson all noticeably performing better than Kendricks at different points throughout training camp. He'll be eligible to play Week 2 against the Dolphins should he make the Patriots' 53-man roster.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Heads to locker room
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks went to the locker room during Thursday's preseason game against the Panthers due to an unspecified injury, Kevin Duffy of the Boston Herald reports.

Kendricks took a big hit during the exhibition, and he went to the locker room for further evaluation shortly after. The details surrounding his injury have yet to emerge.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Long gainer sets up TD
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks had a catch-and-run of 28 yards during Saturday's 22-17 win against the Titans.

It's been a revolving door at tight end for the Patriots this offseason, with Austin Seferian-Jenkins, Ben Watson and Matt LaCosse (ankle) all considered for prominent roles at varying points, only to be cut from the team, suspended or moved down the depth chart due to injury. Kendricks was signed on July 24 and may end up being one of the last men standing when it's all said and done. He brings with him valuable experience and 2,500 career receiving yards, but he was relatively quiet during his two seasons with Green Bay, compiling just 37 catches for 373 yards, despite logging 12 starts and playing 23 total games alongside Aaron Rodgers.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Spotted in non-contact jersey
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks (undisclosed) took the field Monday, sporting a red (non contact) jersey, Mark Daniels of the Providence Journal reports.

With Kendricks still not ready to practice fully and Matt LaCosse dealing with a lower-leg injury, the Patriots added some depth at tight end by acquiring Eric Saubert from the Falcons on Monday. LaCosse is the team's projected Week 1 starter at tight end, with Ben Watson set to serve a four-game suspension, but if LaCosse's injury persists, Kendricks could factor in early on, assuming his own health isn't an issue.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: No action Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks (undisclosed) did not play during Thursday's preseason game against the Lions, Zack Cox of reports.

Kendricks has yet to participate in practice since signing with the Patriots last week. The veteran tight end is competing for a role in New England. Matt LaCosse left Thursday's contest due to an undisclosed injury and did not return, so Kendricks could see plenty of reps if he's able to get healthy and return to practice soon.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Not practicing Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks (undisclosed) is not participating at Friday's practice, Doug Kyed of reports.

Kendricks is sitting out for the second straight day after leaving Wednesday's practice early with the undisclosed issue. The 31-year-old is looking to secure a spot in New England's tight end rotation with the retirement of Rob Gronkowski, while Benjamin Watson will begin the season with a four-game suspension.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Absent Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks (undisclosed) was held out of Thursday's practice after leaving Wednesday's session early, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.

Kendricks is looking to secure a roster spot as a reserve tight end after joining the Patriots on a one-year deal. It's unclear exactly what's afflicting the 31-year-old, but once he's back on the field, Kendricks has an opportunity to claim a spot in the team's TE rotation (along with fellow newcomer Matt LaCosse), given that Rob Gronkowski has retired and Benjamin Watson is set to serve a four-game suspension to begin the coming season.

Patriots' Lance Kendricks: Finds new team
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Patriots and Kendricks came to terms Wednesday on a one-year deal, Mike Reiss of reports.

The 31-year-old only logged 19 catches for 170 yards and a score in 16 games with the Packers last season, so this isn't a splashy addition for the Patriots. Still, with Rob Gronkowski having retired and Benjamin Watson set to serve a four-game suspension to begin the coming season, the addition of Kendricks fortifies the team's depth at tight end. With a strong training camp and preseason, Kendricks could make a case for key early season snaps, a scenario that also applies to fellow free-agent addition Matt LaCosse.

Packers' Lance Kendricks: Spends season as No. 2 tight end
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks did not catch a pass in the Packers' Week 17 loss to the Lions and finished the season with 19 receptions for 170 yards and a touchdown over 16 games.

Kendricks worked as the Packers' backup tight end in 2018 and finished second among players at his position in all of snaps, receptions, and yards. His two-year contract with the team expires this offseason, and it remains to be seen if he will be back with the Packers for the 2019 season. Whether Kendricks ends up back in Green Bay or elsewhere, expect the soon-to-be-31-year-old to slot in as a reserve.

Packers' Lance Kendricks: Snags two passes in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks caught both of his targets for 26 yards during Sunday's 44-38 win over the Jets.

Though the production itself has been modest, Kendricks has now had two of his three best performances of the season from a yardage standpoint in the past two weeks. His 20-yard catch-and-run Sunday opened the second half for Green Bay and set up a field goal in route to a big Packers comeback. It's hard to get too excited about a handful of catches for a backup tight end, but Kendricks does have a decent matchup to end the season against a Lions defense that has been middle-of-the-pack against the pass this season, but surrendered Kendricks' lone touchdown of the season in Week 5.

Packers' Lance Kendricks: Season-high four receptions
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks caught four passes for 27 yards in Sunday's loss to the Bears.

Kendricks played a season-low nine snaps Sunday, but he was targeted frequently when on the field, notching a season-high four receptions. He could conceivably see a boost in activity before the season ends if the Packers -- eliminated from playoff contention -- decide to further limit or shut down top tight end Jimmy Graham (thumb), but even then, his fantasy value would only be minimal. Kendricks is averaging just 8.5 yards per reception and has scored only once this season.

Packers' Lance Kendricks: No targets for second straight week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks played 17 snaps on offense in Sunday's victory over the Falcons and was not targeted.

Kendricks played the second-most snaps among Packers tight ends like he usually has this season, but that did not result in any impact in the box score for the second week in a row. Top tight end Jimmy Graham is playing through a broken thumb, but that has not resulted in any boost in production for Kendricks.

Packers' Lance Kendricks: No targets Week 13
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks played 12 snaps and was not targeted in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals.

Kendricks' snap count decreased for the third week in a row, and the 12 plays were his fewest in a game since Week 3. Changes could be coming in the Packers offense with Mike McCarthy no longer in town, but given Kendricks' declining snap count and overall output, it's unlikely his fantasy value will change noticeably.

Packers' Lance Kendricks: Little change in role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks caught two of three targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 24-17 loss to the Vikings.

Though he had a chance to be more involved this week with fellow tight end Jimmy Graham playing through a broken thumb, Kendricks actually played a smaller percentage of snaps than he did in Week 11 against the Seahawks. After another quiet day on the scoresheet, it's clear Kendricks doesn't project to offer much in terms of fantasy upside even if Graham is limited for additional contests.

Packers' Lance Kendricks: Role could expand
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Kendricks caught two passes for 12 yards in Thursday's loss to the Seahawks.

Kendricks provided his typical modest production in Week 11 despite playing over 50 percent of the snaps for the second week in a row. More notable than Kendricks' own production was the fact that fellow tight end Jimmy Graham injured his thumb in the contest and could be forced to miss time as a result. If Graham is in fact sidelined for at least the Packers' Week 12 game against the Vikings, Kendricks -- who has operated as the No. 2 tight end all season -- would likely move into the starting lineup and pick up more snaps. Kendricks isn't as skilled of a receiver as Graham, though, so any added snaps Kendricks receives wouldn't necessarily translate to a huge uptick in targets.
