Weatherspoon was not listed on the team's injury report released Monday, D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Prior to the report, Weatherspoon had been dealing with an illness of sorts. With his name clear from the dreaded weekly report, the expectation is that Weatherspoon will be ready for the team's game against the Saints on Thursday.
Weatherspoon (illness) is inactive for Sunday's matchup with Minnesota.
Weatherspoon was held out of practice on Thursday and Friday due to his illness. He's played mostly special teams with Atlanta this season, and his absence shouldn't impact the defense greatly.
Weatherspoon is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Vikings due to an illness, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
Weatherspoon was a new addition to the injury report and did not practice Thursday and Friday. The 29-year-old has been a rotational middle linebacker that has mostly played special teams since signing with the Falcons in late October, and he'll likely to be a game-time call in Week 13.
After a torn Achilles suffered last October limited Weatherspoon to just four games in 2016, the veteran linebacker wasn't able to secure a contract during the offseason. Now apparently back to full strength, Weatherspoon will offer Atlanta additional depth at the second level in his third stint with the club. With rookie Duke Riley (knee) set to undergo surgery, Weatherspoon could see regular work on running downs.
