Saints' Jason Trusnik: Agrees to deal with New Orleans
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Trusnik signed a contract Wednesday with the Saints, Tom Pelissero of USA Today reports.

Trusnik will provide the Saints with some depth at outside linebacker, but he's expected to make his biggest impact with New Orleans' special teams units. The 32-year-old has been out of the NFL this season after appearing in eight games with the Vikings in 2015.

Panthers sign LB Jason Trusnik to one-year deal
by R.J. White |

The Panthers have signed linebacker Jason Trusnik to a one-year deal, the team announced.

"Jason is an experienced player who adds more competition to the linebacker position and has also been a special teams ace," coach Ron Rivera said. "I expect him to come in and be a leader. Even though he is new to us, he's got veteran savvy to him."

Trusnik made six starts while playing all 16 games with the Dolphins in 2014, racking up 48 tackles and intercepting one pass.

"First, I want to earn respect from my new teammates and coaches," Trusnik said. "It's a new team and I have to earn that. I want to continue to be the leader that I've been in the past and make plays, whether that be on special teams or on defense."

by Marty Gitlin |

Only defensive players are listed on the Friday injury report released by the Dolphins. But most of them are probable and will almost certainly play against Carolina on Sunday.

The probables are cornerback Nolan Carroll (ankle), safety Chris Clemons (glute), linebackers Dannell Ellerbe (knee), Koa Misi (shoulder) and Jonathan Freeny (shoulder) and tackle Paul Soliai (knee).

Listed as questionable are end Cameron Wake (knee), linebacker Jason Trusnik (rib) and cornerback Don Jones (elbow). Fellow cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin) is out.

Defenders dominate Dolphins injury report

What are the odds of a 10-player injury report in which everyone listed is a defensive player? Such was the case with the report submitted Friday by the Dolphins.

The only defender ruled out is cornerback Dimitri Patterson (groin). Fellow corner Don Jones (elbow) is questionable as are end Cameron Wake (knee) and Jason Trusnik (rib).

The others are all probable. They are cornerback Nolan Carroll (ankle), safety Chris Clemons (glute), linebackers Koa Misi (shoulder), Dannell Ellerbe (knee) and Jonathan Freeny (shoulder) and tackle Paul Soliai (knee).

by Chris Towers | Fantasy Writer

With Dannell Ellerbe out with a shoulder injury, Dolphins linebacker Jason Trusnik filled in well in Week 7 against the Bills.

Though Miami lost, 23-21, Trusnik had his most productive game of the season. He racked up six tackles -- all solo -- in the game. He has 14 tackles on the season.

Dolphins defense in good shape Sunday
by Chris Towers | Fantasy Writer

The Dolphins injury report for Week 7 against the Bills featured plenty of defensive players, but most were able to play through their issues. The lone exception is linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder), who will be replaced in the starting lineup Sunday by Jason Trusnik (rib).

Linebacker Koa Misi (shoulder, knee), defensive backs Dimitri Patterson (groin) and Chris Clemons (knee), and defensive linemen Dion Jordan (ankle) and Cameron Wake (knee) were all able to suit up and are active for Sunday's game.

Dolphins largely healthy for Week 7
by Chris Towers | Fantasy Writer

The Dolphins defense is expected to be at something close to full strength in Week 7 against the Bills, as five of seven players listed on the injury report Friday are probable.

While Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder) and Dimitri Patterson (groin) might have to sit out Sunday's game, the rest of the defense looks to be in good shape. Among those listed on the injury report as probable are defensive back Chris Clemons (knee(, defensive linemen Cameron Wake (knee) and Dion Jordan (ankle), and linebacker Koa Misi (shoulder, knee) and Jason Trusnik (rib).

The Dolphins released a Week 5 injury report on Friday that, strangely, includes 10 defensive players and just one on offense.
