Morgan (knee) will sit out Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Morgan looked as though he was trending toward suiting up this week after practicing on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday, but he may have suffered a setback along the way, as he was held out of the entire session Friday. It's expected that Morgan's absence will open up more snaps on the edge for Erik Walden and Kevin Dodd.
Morgan is working his way back from a knee injury that left him sidelined for last week's loss to the Cardinals. Consecutive limited workloads at practice indicates he is trending toward a game-time decision Sunday. Eric Walden and Kevin Dodd would likely see increased snaps if Morgan is forced to sit out again.
Morgan (knee) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice.
Morgan was forced to miss Week 14's matchup against the Cardinals, and his limitation in practice shows that he is still being slowed by a lingering knee injury. If he's unable to go Sunday against the 49ers, expect Eric Walden and Kevin Dodd to see increased snaps.
Morgan (knee) won't play Sunday against the Cardinals, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Morgan has 7.5 sacks this season, just 1.5 short of the career high he posted in 2016. With Morgan unavailable Sunday, Erik Walden will make his first start of the season and second-year pro Kevin Dodd will have a chance to get his first significant reps of the season.
Morgan posted a season-high four tackles and one sack against the Colts on Sunday.
Morgan now has seven sacks this season, just two sacks away from his career high. In Week 13, the eighth-year linebacker will try to get after Houston's QB Tom Savage, who has been sacked on 8.5 percent of his dropbacks this season, ranking 28th in the league.
