Branden Albert: Released by Jaguars
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Albert has officially been released by the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.

After abruptly announcing his retirement from football nearly two weeks ago, Albert recently had a change of heart. However, the Jaguars already had placed him on the "reserve/retired" list, which would have made a move back to the active roster somewhat complicated. Thus, they have opted to simply release the veteran.

Branden Albert: May return to Jaguars
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Albert has informed the Jaguars that he's interested in returning to the team, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Albert abruptly announced his retirement from football less than two weeks ago, but it appears that may have been a rash decision, and one that he seemingly regrets. While the process of moving Albert back to the active roster may be a complicated one, the Jaguars placed him on the "reserve/retired" list Tuesday after Albert was previously listed on the "left team" list. In the event that Albert ultimately rejoins the team, he'll compete with rookie Cam Robinson for snaps at either tackle or guard.

Branden Albert: Announces retirement
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Albert announced Monday that he would retire from the NFL, John Oehser of the Jaguars' official site reports.

Albert's decision to hang up his cleats comes as a major surprise, as the 32-year-old was just acquired from the Dolphins in the offseason and expected to serve as the Jaguars' starting left tackle. The sudden departure of the two-time Pro Bowler, who was on the field for the Jaguars' initial days of training camp, will force Jacksonville to look elsewhere to protect quarterback Blake Bortles' blind side. Rookie second-rounder Cam Robinson seems the most likely candidate to fill Albert's spot, but his promotion to that role would come far earlier than was expected when he was drafted.

Jaguars' Branden Albert: Will report to practices
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Albert will report to mandatory minicamp, ESPN's Michael DiRocco reports.

Albert hasn't been present at OTAs due to a contract dispute. His participation in mandatory minicamp will reportedly be determined by the results of the physical he'll receive upon arrival.

Jaguars' Branden Albert: Still seeking new contract
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Albert is not expected to participate in Tuesday's OTAs as he continues to wait for an improved contract, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.

Albert, who was traded from the Dolphins to the Jaguars in February, isn't happy with his contract situation in Jacksonville. He'll be expected to start at left tackle upon his eventual return, but that time may not come until he's able to work out a deal with the front office. In the meantime, rookie tackle Cam Robinson out of Alabama figures to see additional reps with the first team.

Dolphins' Branden Albert: Active Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dolphins offensive lineman Branden Albert (hamstring) is active Sunday against the Titans.

Albert had been limited in practice all week, but that won't prevent him from suiting up to occupy a vital role in Week 6.

Dolphins offensive tackle Branden Albert (hamstring) won't play Sunday, reports the Miami Herald.

This is a huge loss for a Dolphins offensive line that has been having problems opening up holes for running back Lamar Miller. Albert also protects the blind side of Ryan Tannehill. Life for the Jets defensive line just got a little easier for this game.

Dolphins offensive tackle Branden Albert (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dolphins offensive tackle Branden Albert (hamstring) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Jets, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports.

That said, the report suggests that the Dolphins' starting left tackle will not play in Sunday's contest, with Jason Fox thus slated to fill in for Albert for the second week in a row.

Dolphins offensive tackle Branden Albert (hamstring) was a limited participant during practice Wednesday, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Albert missed Sunday's slate against the Bills, but he will try to make it on the field when the Dolphins take on another AFC East foe -- the Jets -- Sunday in London. For now, his status should be considered week to week.

Dolphins won't have OT Branden Albert available Week 3
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dolphins offensive lineman Branden Albert (hamstring) is inactive Sunday against the Bills.

Against the Bills' aggressive front seven, Albert's absence works against potential production for running back Lamar Miller and the protection for Ryan Tannehill. Jason Fox is expected to fill in for Albert.

Dolphins OT Branden Albert nearly set to be sidelined Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Dolphins tackle Branden Albert hasn't practiced all week and is listed as doubtful on the team's official injury report with a hamstring injury.

While his game-time status for Sunday hasn't officially been announced it looks like Jason Fox might be in line for a start against the destructive Bills' defense. The absence of Albert would not be a boon to the Miami skill position players for Fantasy owners.

Dolphins offensive tackle Branden Albert (hamstring) will not practice Thursday, Omar Kelly of the Sun Sentinel reports.

Albert missed practice Wednesday and was spotted rehabbing with trainers Thursday, putting his availability for the Sunday afternoon tilt against Buffalo in jeopardy. If the 30-year-old tackle is unable to go, Jason Fox might get the start against the Bills' vaunted defensive line.

Dolphins LT Branden Albert expecting to play Week 1

Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert said Wednesday he expects to play in the season opener Sunday against the Redskins, according to The Palm Beach Post. Albert is coming off a major knee injury, as he tore the ACL and MCL in his right knee in November.

“I think you know the answer already,” Albert told reporters. “We all know the answer. Ive been starting with the first-team all week and will continue, so there goes our answer. I’m tired of everybody asking me.”

Dolphins OL Branden Albert hopes to play in season opener
by Sean D'Oliveira | CBS Sports Staff

Dolphins coach Joe Philbin is still not committed to starting offensive tackle Branden Albert in the regular-season opener on Sunday, reports the Sun Sentinel.

"We'll take it a day at a time with him... and see how he does," Philbin said Monday. "We haven't committed to anybody yet. He looked good [Monday]. He's doing more every single day, and we'll see how it goes... He's competing hard and getting his timing and his rhythm back."

Albert is trying to recover from a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, which he suffered last November.

"The simple fact that my knee doesn't bother me is the most important thing that people have to understand," Albert said. "It's not my knee. It's me playing like I need to play to help this team, being the blindside protector I'm supposed to be to help this team win. It's my conditioning and my timing. That's what the organization and trainers are keeping an eye on. "Right now I can't give nobody a straight answer. I don't want to give somebody an answer and then look like a liar. The most important thing people need to realize is that it's not my knee. It's me getting my timing back."

Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert declared Tuesday he is a full participant in practice, which is the first time he participated in all drills since he injured his knee in November.

"I'm back doing everything," Albert said, per The Miami Herald.

Still, Albert isn't sure if he will be ready by the season opener.

"I don't know," he said.

Dolphins OL Branden Albert not guaranteed for Week 1
by Elliot Smith | CBSSports.com

While Dolphins tackle Branden Albert avoided the PUP list at the start of training camp and has spent some time practicing with the team, the lineman is being brought along slowly and his status for Week 1 of the regular season remains in doubt, per the Palm Beach Post

Albert tore his ACL and MCL during Week 10 last season, and the team remains cautious about his recovery.

"I don’t think surprised is the right term," Dolphins offensive line coach John Benton said about Albert's return for the regular season. "I'm a positive person so I'm sure expecting that to happen. At the same time, I understand it's a fairly serious injury he's recovering from."

Dolphins offensive lineman Branden Albert was a limited participant in certain drills during Sunday's practice, reports The Palm Beach Post.

It was the first time since training camp opened last week where Albert was able to do more than just warmups and walk-through drills.

"It was good to have him out in pads — for him, for the team," coach Joe Philbin said. "Just take it a day at a time and see when we can add more to his plate and go from there."

Dolphins' Branden Albert avoids PUP, says knee is fine
by Shawn Krest | CBSSports.com

Dolphins offensive lineman Branden Albert's surgically repaired right knee feels fine, he reported after a walk-through to open camp on Thursday.

Albert ruptured his ACL and MCL last November.

"It's been a long road. I'm just happy I'm not on that PUP list and I can be involved with the team. I'm not off on the side no more like a stepchild," Albert said, per the Palm Beach Post.

Dolphins LT Branden Albert, DB Don Jones out of OTAs
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

As expected, Dolphins left tackle Branden Albert (knee) and defensive back Don Jones (shoulder) have been ruled out of OTA work, per the Miami Herald.

Albert is expected to be ready to roll for the season opener. The team has repeatedly claimed that he is on track, though offensive line coach John Benton is making no guarantees.

"From what I've heard it looks promising," he told the Palm Beach Post. "To say I'm confident is probably a little bit of a stretch. He promises me. I certainly hope that's the case - we're a much better crew with him. At the same time you have to make the plans that he won't (be ready)."

The shoulder injury that has sidelined Jones has been a factor since late in the regular season.
