The Bills placed defensive end Jarius Wynn and linebacker Ty Powell on injured reserve Tuesday. Both players recently suffered ACL injuries, which will sideline them for the 2015 season.

Bills' Jarius Wynn likely out for season with knee injury

Bills defensive end Jarius Wynn left Friday's preseason opener with a knee injury. 

On Sunday, coach Rex Ryan told the media that Wynn is probably lost for the season, per the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle.

Wynn had two sacks and 17 tackles last year.

Bills announce signing of DE Jarius Wynn

The Bills announced the signing of defensive end Jarius Wynn on Saturday, per the team's official website.

Wynn, 27, originally signed with the club last offseason. He appeared in 11 games for the Bills in 2014, tallying 18 tackles and 2 1/2 sacks. He has 10 1/2 sacks through his six years in the NFL.

Report: Bills re-sign DT Jarius Wynn, WR Marcus Easley

The Bills re-signed defensive tackle Jarius Wynn to a two-year deal and special teams ace Marcus Easley to a four-year contract, reports Wynn is a rotational player who had 17 tackles and two sacks in 11 games last year.

Easley made 11 tackles on special teams despite missing six games with a knee injury.

Bills running back C.J. Spiller (shoulder) is among the team's players listed as probable who are active for Sunday's game against the Raiders.

Spiller is making his return from injured reserve and will be playing in his first game since Week 7. Also active after being listed as probable are safeties Da'Norris Searcy (hamstring) and Duke Williams (concussion), cornerback Stephon Gilmore (shoulder), defensive end Jarius Wynn (knee), running back Anthony Dixon (chest), wide receiver Marcus Thigpen (foot) and kicker Dan Carpenter (groin).

Report: Bills DE Jarius Wynn likely red-lighted for Thursday

Bills reserve defensive end Jarius Wynn, who missed Tuesday practice with a knee injury sustained Sunday against Kansas City, is unlikely to play Thursday night against Miami, per the Buffalo News, which is further reporting that the team could sign another player at that position.

His loss would leave Buffalo with just three healthy defensive ends, but its practice squad features two others in Bryan Johnson and Ike Igbinosun.

Bills defense shines in Week 8 win vs. Jets

The Bills defense racked up six turnovers and four sacks in the team's 43-23 win over the Jets in Week 8. The Jets fumbled the ball four times in the loss, losing two, while throwing four interceptions in a poor all-around effort from the offense.

Leading the Bills' sack charge was defensive tackle Kyle Williams, who delivered 1.5 sacks despite dealing with a minor back injury during the game. Defensive end Mario Williams also had a half a sack as well as a forced fumble, while defensive linemen Corbin Bryant contributed a sack and a forced fumble and defensive end Jarius Wynn added a sack of his own.

The Bills were able to intercept four passes, with three coming against starter Geno Smith in the first quarter and one coming from the arm of backup Michael Vick, who took over and played most of the game. Linebacker Preston Brown, cornerback Stephon Gilmore and safeties Aaron Williams and Da'Norris Searcy each picked off a pass in the winning effort.

The Bills head into a Week 9 bye with a 5-3 record before facing the Chiefs in Week 10.

Unless the Bills draft a defensive end, Mario Williams and Jerry Hughes could play 90 percent of the snaps in the team's 4-3 scheme, reports The current third option is Jarius Wynn, a 285-pounder who might be better suited inside.

The Bills signed free agent defensive end Jarius Wynn to a one-year deal, reports the Buffalo News. He played for the Chargers and Cowboys last season, getting 11 tackles, two sacks and two pass breakups.
