King has not participated in practice since the team's preseason opener against the Packers due to an undisclosed injury, Erik Bacharach of The Tennessean reports.
This is the first report of King being sidelined for practice, and it's still unknown exactly what he injury he suffered in Green Bay on Thursday. Nevertheless, until the Titans provide more clarity on the defensive end's injury, consider him day-to-day.
King, who the Titans traded for last September in exchange for a conditional draft pick, recorded three tackles and one sack over seven games in 2017 while operating as a rotational defensive lineman. He'll likely remain in a low-volume role in 2018 and, as such, isn't worth any consideration in IDP formats.
Jones was placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn bicep in Sunday's win over the Texans, and while Austin Johnson was the main beneficiary with a season-best six tackles and one sack, King could begin to see additional snaps himself. The 27-year-old hasn't taken the field since the Oct. 16 game against the Colts and has recorded just one tackle this season.
King would likely have been waived by the Chiefs anyway, and the Titans likely won't lose anything if King doesn't make the team, so this move makes sense for both sides.
