King, who the Titans traded for last September in exchange for a conditional draft pick, recorded three tackles and one sack over seven games in 2017 while operating as a rotational defensive lineman. He'll likely remain in a low-volume role in 2018 and, as such, isn't worth any consideration in IDP formats.
Jones was placed on injured reserve after suffering a torn bicep in Sunday's win over the Texans, and while Austin Johnson was the main beneficiary with a season-best six tackles and one sack, King could begin to see additional snaps himself. The 27-year-old hasn't taken the field since the Oct. 16 game against the Colts and has recorded just one tackle this season.
King would likely have been waived by the Chiefs anyway, and the Titans likely won't lose anything if King doesn't make the team, so this move makes sense for both sides.
King (ankle) recorded three tackles and one sack in Friday's preseason game against the 49ers.
King had been dealing with an ankle injury but appears to be healthy based on his latest game performance. The former Oklahoma Sooner is competing with Maurice Swain and Tanoh Kpassagnon (shin) to back up starter Allen Bailey.
