Edwards signed a contract Wednesday with the Browns, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.
Edwards has yet to play in an NFL game in 2017, but has accrued 22 appearances across stops with four teams the past four seasons. The 27-year-old should fill a depth role for the Browns along the defensive line.
Edwards was released by the Colts on Friday, Mike Chappell of IndySportsCentral.com reports.
Edwards played in five games for the Colts this season after being claimed off waivers in mid-October, totaling four tackles and a sack in limited action. However, he's been inactive in each of the past two contests and appears to have fallen out of favor in Indianapolis. Fellow outside linebacker and second-year player Deiontrez Mount was signed in a corresponding move.
Edwards was claimed off waivers by the Colts, Mike Chappell of IndySportsCentral.com reports.
In a surprising move, Edwards was waived by the Panthers on Tuesday despite the fact that his one sack on the year is more than both of Carolina's starting defensive ends combined (0.5 between Charles Johnson and Kony Ealy). Nonetheless, the hybrid linebacker/defensive end will now provide the Colts with depth at a few spots on defense.
Edwards was waived by the Bills on Friday, BuffaloBills.com reports.
Edwards hasn't played since 2014, when he was with the Cowboys for four games. He was competing for a backup position on the defensive line before being cut.
The Cowboys activated defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence from injured reserve Saturday, waiving defensive end Lavar Edwards in a corresponding move.
Lawrence suffered a fractured foot in late July and started the season on short-term injured reserve, placing Week 9 as his earliest possible return date. The rookie defensive end returned to practice in mid-October and should be available for Sunday's matchup with the Cardinals.
The Cowboys announced a pair of roster moves on Friday, according to the Dallas Morning News. The team re-signed defensive end Lavar Edwards and waived linebacker Korey Toomer.

McClain was doubtful to play in Week 3 with his injury, while Durant, Spencer and Coleman had already been ruled out. Quarterback Tony Romo (back), guard Zack Martin (foot), defensive end George Selvie (shoulder) and defensive tackle Ken Bishop (illness) are all active after being listed as probable.
The Cowboys waived defensive end Lavar Edwards and signed linebacker Keith Smith from the practice squad Saturday. With Rolando McClain doubtful to play Sunday due to a groin injury, the Cowboys turned to the practice squad to add to the depth at the position.
The Cowboys ruled out three players from the defensive side of the ball for Week 3 against the Rams, based on Friday's injury report.
Defensive linemen Anthony Spencer (knee) was unable to practice Friday after being limited earlier in the week, and will not play in Sunday's game. He will be joined on the sidelined by Davon Coleman (knee) and Justin Durant (groin), both of whom were unable to practice during the week.
Additionally, linebacker Rolando McClain (groin) is doubtful after missing the entire week. Defensive lineman Lavar Edwards (knee) is questionable, while George Selvie (shoulder) and Ken Bishop (illness) are both probable for the game and expected to play.
Cowboys quarterback Dustin Vaughan, linebacker Justin Durant (groin), nose tackle Ken Bishop, tackle Donald Hawkins, tackle Darrion Weems (shoulder), defensive end Anthony Spencer (knee) and defensive end Lavar Edwards (knee) were all ruled inactive Week 2 at Tennessee.

The Titans have made QB John Skelton, WR Damian Williams, WR Kenny Britt, DB Micah Pellerin, T Byron Stingily, TE Delanie Walker and DE Lavar Edwards inactive Week 14 against the Broncos.
Both Williams and Walker were listed as questionable entering the game. Walker has yet to be cleared after suffering a concussion last week.
The Titans inactive list for Week 11 against the Colts featured little drama, as only one player was a game-time decision. Linebacker Zaviar Gooden (hamstring) was ruled inactive prior to kickoff due to his injury. He is joined by defensive back Tommie Campbell (shoulder), linebacker Moise Fokou (knee) and wide receiver Damian Williams (hip).
The team's healthy scratches for the game include defensive end Lavar Edwards and offensive linemen Michael Otto and Brian Schwenke.
The Titans inactive list for Week 10 against the Jaguars features two injured players who were unable to play through their issues Sunday: defensive back Tommie Campbell (shoulder) and linebacker Moise Fokou (knee).
Additionally, linebacker Zac Diles, defensive lineman Lavar Edwards, and offensive linemen Pat McQuistan and David Stewart.
