Patriots' Ramon Humber: Signs with New England
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber agreed to a contract with the Patriots on Wednesday, Kevin Duffy of the Boston Herald reports.

Humber had previously spent time with the Patriots during the 2016 offseason before being cut at the conclusion of the preseason. Since then, the 31-year-old has appeared in 38 games for the Bills, which included 10 starts in 2017. He had been used primarily as a special teams player with Buffalo this season before being released earlier this month and will likely serve in a similar capacity for New England as long as he remains with the club.

Ramon Humber: Let go by Buffalo
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber was released by the Bills on Saturday, The Buffalo News reports.

Humber started some games in 2017, but second-year man Matt Milano has passed by him on the depth chart and has evolved his game enough that he's now a clear three-down starter. With the 2-7 Bills looking toward the longer term, they'll swap out a journeyman like Humber so some younger players can get a look on both sides of the ball the rest of the way.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Re-signs with Bills
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Bills re-signed Humber to a one-year deal on Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Humber has spent the past two seasons in Buffalo, contributing on defense and special teams. Last season the veteran recorded nine starts, the most in a single season so far in his career, but eventually lost his starting role to rookie Matt Milano. Still, Humber managed to record a career-high 89 tackles (60 solo) to go along with one sack, one pass defensed and one forced fumble. Look for him to once again compete for a starting role during training camp, though for now Milano is the guy.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Loses starting spot
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber, who failed to log a tackle while playing 20 defensive snaps Sunday, has lost his starting outside linebacker spot to rookie Matt Milano, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Humber has had three double-digit tackle games this season, but he missed three games due to minor thumb surgery and hasn't been the same player since returning. Milano, meanwhile, has far outperformed his fifth-round status, so the Bills will keep ceding more time to the younger player.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Still not 100 percent
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier says Humber continues to be bothered by a thumb injury suffered in Week 4 against Atlanta and caused him to miss three games, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports. "Ramon, you can see that hand is still affecting him a little bit," Frazier said. "He should be better going into the next ballgame because he would have had an entire week of practice under his belt again. He should be a little bit better. But we'll take a look at Matt as well. Matt was very productive for us when he was on the field in the lineup. We'll take a look at it over the course of the week and see what's best."

Humber, who did have 10 tackles in Sunday's bludgeoning at the hands of the Saints, has struggled the past two games while frequently missing tackles. Rookie Matt Milano performed well when Humber was out, so Frazier could start to mix Milano back in a little more until Humber proves as sturdy as he was prior to the injury.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Active Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber (thumb) is listed as active for Thursday's game against the Jets.

Although he turned in limited practices early in the week, Humber will give it a go Thursday. He has been recovering from minor thumb surgery for the past month, but will return against the Jets. The veteran linebacker will presumably return to his starting role barring any setbacks.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Deemed questionable for Week 9
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber (thumb) is listed as questionable for the Bills' Week 9 matchup Thursday with the Jets.

After turning in limited practices Monday and Tuesday, Humber was upgraded to a full participant in Wednesday's session, which likely wasn't an overly strenuous one with the Bills' game one day away. With a month off to recover from a minor thumb surgery, Humber looks as though he's made significant strides on the health front, but it's uncertain if it will be enough for him to receive clearance to play Thursday. Head coach Sean McDermott has previously said that a healthy Humber would take back his starting role at outside linebacker from Matt Milano, who has generally played well as a replacement.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Closer to return
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber (thumb) practiced on a limited basis for the second straight day Tuesday, Chris Brown of the Bills' official site reports.

Humber has missed three games after having minor surgery on the thumb, but it looks like the starting outside linebacker is close to a return, possibly as soon as Thursday against the Jets.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Returns on limited basis
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber, who has missed the last three games following thumb surgery, would have been considered a limited participant had the Bills practiced Monday, Mike Rodak of reports.

The Bills actually had a walkthrough and not a real practice, but Humber's listing would have been limited had this been a normal session. Rookie Matt Milano has exceeded everyone's expectations while subbing for Humber, but coach Sean McDermott says the job belongs to the latter once he's ready to return. There's an extra hurdle this week in that the Bills play Thursday at the Jets, so Humber only has a few days to prove his readiness.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Ruled out for Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber (thumb) will not play in Sunday's game against the Raiders, Mike Rodak of reports.

Humber is still yet to practice since undergoing surgery to repair a fractured thumb ahead of Week 5, and he remains without a clear recovery timetable. Matt Milano will continue to fill in as a starting linebacker in Humber's absence.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Sitting out practice Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber (thumb) didn't take part in practice Wednesday, Mike Rodak of reports.

It appears that Humber will be sidelined for a third straight game Sunday against the Raiders while he continues to recover from surgery to repair a fractured thumb. Matt Milano has taken over Humber's starting spot at linebacker the past two weeks, but according to Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News, Bills head coach Sean McDermott said Humber would regain his starting role upon returning to full strength.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Out for Week 7
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber, who had surgery for a fractured thumb following a game in Week 4, did not practice all week and is listed as out for Sunday's game against Tampa Bay.

Reports are that Humber is making progress, but he's clearly not ready for game action yet and it still might be a week or two before the Bills even have a firm timetable on the starting linebacker's return.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Will have surgery on thumb
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bills head coach Sean McDermott confirmed Monday that Humber suffered a fractured thumb in the Week 4 win over the Falcons and will require surgery, Joe Buscaglia of 7 ABC Buffalo reports.

Humber is considered out indefinitely, but a more definitive timetable for his return could be fleshed out once the procedure is completed. With 37 tackles through the Bills' first four games, Humber had popped up on the IDP radar before succumbing to the injury.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Likely has broken hand
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber is believed to have suffered a fractured hand in Sunday's win over the Falcons, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Assuming Rapoport's report is confirmed by the Bills, Humber would likely require surgery on the hand, which would almost certainly result in him missing time. However, it wouldn't necessarily spell an end to Humber's season, as the linebacker could choose to wear a club on the injured hand and play with it. Humber has collected 37 tackles over the Bills' first four games.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Suffers thumb injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber hurt his thumb Sunday against the Falcons and is questionable to return.

Humber has been a star so far this season as the Bills' starting outside linebacker, logging 31 tackles (25 solo) through three weeks. Therefore, a quick return would be favorable for Buffalo, but expect Matt Milano to fill in for the time being.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Eleven tackles in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber recorded 11 tackles (seven solo), including one for a loss in Sunday's loss to the Panthers.

Humber has been blanketing the field through the first two games of the season, as his 23 total tackles this year already surpasses his 17 from last season. A contributor on both defense and special teams, Humber combined for 75 total reps on Sunday.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Big season opener
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber posted 13 total tackles in Sunday's win over the Jets, leading the team.

We knew Humber was going to be a starter, but this eye-popping total -- one that bested fellow starters Preston Brown and Lorenzo Alexander combined -- far exceeded any expectations. It's also worth noting Humber only missed one of 58 defensive snaps. We still like the other two players as better IDPs, but Zach Brown came out of nowhere in the Bills' defense last season (so did Alexander, for that matter), so perhaps Humber is a target to do the same. We'll see if this becomes a trend over Humber's next few games.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Totals three tackles Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber recorded three tackles during Saturday's preseason loss to the Ravens.

Humber didn't seem to be hampered by the oblique strain he suffered in practice last week. He's entering the season as a projected starter in coach Sean McDermott's 4-3 defense and should have every opportunity to best the 17 tackles he logged in 2016.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Oblique strain
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber has an oblique strain and was limited in Tuesday's practice, Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News reports.

If Humber is still practicing, we doubt this is anything that will limit him for the rest of the preseason or for Week 1. The veteran is still slated to start on the outside, as he's a better option than second-year player Reggie Ragland right now. Ragland hasn't truly gotten up to speed yet after missing his entire rookie season with a knee injury.

Bills' Ramon Humber: Eyeing starting spot
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Humber will continue to seeing starter's reps at weak-side linebacker throughout training camp, Jay Skurski of The Buffalo News reports.

The loser of the middle-linebacker battle was thought to have a good shot at Humber's starting spot, but the trailing guy in that fight, Reggie Ragland, is seeing second-team reps across the board. If Humber sticks, he'll offer less IDP value than his fellow starters -- likely Preston Brown and Lorenzo Alexander -- but sometimes players given a starting job start putting up surprising numbers in certain defenses.
