Robinson was let go by the Saints last week as the team required added depth on the offensive line. The 27-year-old returns to New Orleans as the team earned a first-round bye to help the group get healthy.
Robinson was released by the Saints on Thursday, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Robinson was let go alongside Mitchell Loewen to make room for Cornelius Lucas and Derek Newton on the active roster. The veteran will search for a depth role elsewhere in the league, but he will likely need to perform well on special teams to stick around.
Robinson was released by Tampa Bay prior to the beginning of the regular season, and he joins a Saints secondary which lost Patrick Robinson (ankle) to injured reserve. Having served as the Buccaneers' special teams captain during the 2017 season, it's likely that Robinson will see a significant amount of snaps in that capacity in New Orleans, in addition to serving as a depth option in the secondary.
Robinson was released by the Buccaneers on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Robinson was Tampa Bay's special teams captain after a stellar 2018 season with the unit. His team option for the 2018 season was exercised back in March, but the Buccaneers elected to move in another direction. Robinson should have little trouble finding a new home before the start of the regular season.
