Jamell Fleming: Released by Chiefs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Fleming was released by the Chiefs on Friday, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.

The 27-year-old safety played his previous two seasons with the Chiefs, and resigned with the team in March. While he backed up Ron Parker at free safety, he mainly held a special teams role with the team.

Chiefs' Jamell Fleming: Re-signs with Chiefs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Fleming has re-signed with the Chiefs, The Kansas City Star reports.

While most of his contributions came on special teams in 2015, Fleming did also log 157 defensive snaps. He finished the campaign with 21 tackles (19 solo) and a fumble recovery, hardly enough for him to be considered in IDP leagues. There's nothing to suggest his role will change in 2016, but the departure of Sean Smith in free agency will lead to a shift in the defensive backfield.
