Martavis Bryant: Unlikely to play this year
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (suspension) hasn't applied for reinstatement and isn't likely to play football in 2020, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Bryant applied for reinstatement last summer but never ended up getting clearance. While a new CBA with lighter penalties for substance abuse offenses might seem to work in his favor, the 28-year-old wideout is still subject to terms from the previous collective bargaining agreement. Bryant is on indefinite suspension for repeat substance abuse violations, with his last game appearance coming in November 2018 for the Raiders.

Martavis Bryant: Applies for reinstatement
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee, suspension) formally applied for reinstatement Monday, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.

Bryant announced his intent to apply for reinstatement earlier this offseason, and has now officially begun the process. The 27-year-old has worked with both the NFL and NFLPA in addressing his off-the-field issues. The former Pittsburgh and Oakland wideout received an indefinite suspension in mid-December of last season after violating the terms of his April 2017 conditional reinstatement. Less than two weeks before the suspension, Bryant suffered a season-ending PCL injury. He ended the year with 19 catches for 226 yards on 27 targets across eight games.

Martavis Bryant: Ready to apply for reinstatement
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee, suspension) plans to apply for reinstatement soon, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports.

Bryant reportedly will argue that the NFL's substance abuse program doesn't give players access to sufficient treatment for mental health issues. He violated the terms of his conditional reinstatement from April 2017, leading to another indefinite suspension in mid-December less than two weeks after the Raiders placed him on injured reserve. The 27-year-old wideout suffered a season-ending PCL injury Week 10, finishing the year with 19 catches for 266 yards on 27 targets in eight games. Bryant is an unrestricted free agent, but he'll likely struggle to find offers even if the NFL provides a timeline for his suspension to be lifted.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Could be reinstated this summer
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee, suspension) may have a chance to be reinstated before training camp if he follows his treatment plan during the offseason, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

After suffering a season-ending PCL injury Week 10 this past season, Bryant was moved back to the NFL's Reserve/Commissioner suspended list in mid-December for a violation of the terms of his April 2017 conditional reinstatement. He has an interesting offseason coming up, likely requiring treatment for both his physical and mental health. The 27-year-old wideout finally earned his fourth accrued NFL season in 2018, allowing him to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Bryant may need to serve additional games on a suspension even if he receives clearance to partake in training camp.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Suspended indefinitely
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee) has been has been returned to the NFL's Reserve/Commissioner Suspended list indefinitely under the league's Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

Per the report, Bryant, who already was on IR due to a knee injury, is back on the list after violating the terms of his April 2017 conditional reinstatement. The wideout's contract with the Raiders expires after the current season, with this latest news clouding his playing future, even when he's healthy enough to take the field.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Out for season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Raiders will place Bryant (knee) on injured reserve Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Bryant hasn't been able to practice in any capacity since suffering a PCL injury Nov. 11. The Raiders had been hopeful to get him back at some point in December, though IR seemed to be a likely outcome all along. Bryant should have time to regain his health before March, at which point he'll be 27 years old and finally eligible for unrestricted free agency. He was limited to 19 catches in eight games this season while also making some ugly mistakes, but at least bounce back from 2017 in terms of yards per catch (14.0) and yards per target (9.9).

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Status still in limbo
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Jon Gruden said Monday that he doesn't know when Bryant (knee) will be healthy enough to play, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.

Bryant has missed three games in a row due to a PCL injury in his left knee. Until he makes an appearance in practice, it'll be difficult to forecast when the wide receiver may start to inch toward a return. In Bryant's absence, Marcell Ateman has stepped into a larger role alongside Jordy Nelson and Seth Roberts.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Won't play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Chiefs.

This is no surprise after the wideout was downgraded to doubtful Saturday, but the fact the Bryant was initially listed as questionable suggests that he has a chance to return to action in Week 14 against the Steelers. On Sunday, the Raiders' receiving corps will be led by Jordy Nelson, Marcell Ateman and Seth Roberts.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Downgraded to doubtful
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee) was downgraded to doubtful for Sunday's contest against the Chiefs, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

It seemed unlikely Bryant would take the field Sunday given the 26-year-old failed to practice all week, and the downgrade seems to confirm those suspicions. Should Bryant get ruled out, the likes of Seth Roberts and Marcell Ateman will continue to fill in behind Jordy Nelson for a thin Raiders receiving core.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Draws questionable tag for Week 13
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.

The designation comes as a major surprise after Bryant failed to practice in any capacity this week and after offensive coordinator Greg Olson noted Thursday that the wideout wouldn't be available Sunday. It's still more likely than not that Bryant is sidelined for a third straight game, but the fact that he avoided a "doubtful" or "out" tag at least suggests he's progressing from the left knee injury faster than anticipated. Assuming Bryant is in fact inactive this weekend, the Raiders will likely deploy Jordy Nelson, Seth Roberts and Marcell Ateman as their primary receivers.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Not ruled out for season
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

While Bryant (knee) won't be available for Sunday's game against the Chiefs, offensive coordinator Greg Olson said he expects the wideout to play again this season, Scott Bair of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Bryant hasn't resumed practicing since injuring the PCL in his left knee in a Nov. 11 loss to the Chargers, which will result in a third straight absence this weekend. Fortunately for the receiver, it appears his health setback may not be as significant as initially feared, though momentum for a return to action won't come until he's back on the practice field in some capacity. In the meantime, the Raiders will lean on Jordy Nelson, Seth Roberts and Marcell Ateman as their primary options in three-receiver formations.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Facing multi-game absence
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Jon Gruden said Bryant (knee) will be out for at least a couple games and possibly longer, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Gruden seems to be hinting at the possibility of Bryant's PCL injury being of the season-ending variety. As far as the immediate future goes, Oakland may need to rely on Brandon LaFell, Seth Roberts and Marcell Ateman in Sunday's game against the Chargers, as veteran wideout Jordy Nelson (knee) is in danger of joining Bryant on the inactive list. It's possible Bryant has played his last game as a member of the Raiders with his contract set to expire at the end of this season.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Expected to miss games
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (knee) will miss some time with a PCL injury, Matt Schneidman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

An MRI on Monday confirmed initial fears of a significant PCL injury, ruling Bryant out for Week 11 at the least. It isn't actually a major blow to the Oakland offense, as the mercurial wideout hasn't seen more than three targets in a game since Week 4. With Jordy Nelson also suffering a knee injury Sunday, the Raiders may be left with Brandon LaFell, Seth Roberts and Marcell Ateman as their top options at wide receiver for Week 11 at Arizona.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Injures left PCL, MRI set for Monday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant injured the PCL in his left knee during Sunday's loss to the Chargers and will have an MRI on Monday to determine the ailment's severity, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Bryant's knee issue is something coach Jon Gruden said the Raiders are "really concerned" about. While that casts a cloud over his situation, Monday's testing should produce a more definitive update on his outlook. Prior to exiting Sunday's game, Bryant caught all three of his targets for 17 yards.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Suffers knee injury
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant was forced out of Sunday's game against the Chargers with a knee injury.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Bryant caught all three of his targets for 17 yards. For now, we'll consider him day-to-day as Week 11's contest against the Cardinals approaches.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Logs three touches in Week 9 loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant caught both of his targets for 29 yards and rushed for 17 yards on one carry in the Raiders' 34-3 loss to the 49ers on Thursday night.

Bryant saw a slight uptick in involvement after barely seeing the field in a Week 8 loss to the Colts, but he remains behind Jordy Nelson, Brandon LaFell and Seth Roberts in the pecking order at wide receiver. Bryant has caught no more than two passes in three consecutive games, so his outlook for Sunday's tilt against the Chargers isn't too positive.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Barely plays in loss
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant played seven snaps and didn't draw a target in Sunday's 42-28 loss to the Colts.

Bryant was deployed as the No. 4 wide receiver in Oakland's first game without Amari Cooper, logging far fewer snaps than Brandon LaFell (92 percent), Jordy Nelson (90 percent) and Seth Roberts (60 percent). It would make sense for a rebuilding team to eventually give Bryant more opportunities, but we can't count on that happening in Thursday's game against the 49ers.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Slated to start against Colts
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant is expected to start at wide receiver across from Jordy Nelson in Week 8 against the Colts following Oakland's Monday trade of Amari Cooper.

Bryant's underwhelming 2018 campaign has been marred by drops and a lost fumble, but he'll have additional opportunities to flash his upside moving forward with Cooper leaving town for Dallas. Bryant has yet to catch more than four passes in a single game this season, but his big-play ability led to a 91-yard performance against a respectable Chargers secondary in Week 5. Fortunately for the Raiders' receiving corps, a pair of intriguing matchups against porous pass defenses await with the Colts and 49ers next up on the schedule.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: Two catches as Raiders drop another
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant caught two of three targets for 18 yards during the Raiders' 27-3 defeat at the hands of the Seahawks on Sunday.

Bryant is a low-volume asset for Oakland, averaging 4.4 targets per game and only exceeding 55 receiving yards once in five appearances. The clearly gifted, but so far underproducing, Bryant may manufacture some buzz as a midseason fill-in option, with potential for an explosive output against the Colts' No. 28 pass defense in Week 8 after the bye and a matchup with a mostly young and unproven San Francisco secondary in Week 9.

Raiders' Martavis Bryant: In uniform Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bryant (illness) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.

Bryant hasn't found the end zone in his first four games this season, but he has hauled in a combined six passes (on 10 targets) for 142 yards over his last two outings and continues to provide the Raiders with a big-play threat behind starting wideouts Amari Cooper and Jordy Nelson.
