Hayden is drawing the start in place of A.J. Bouye (toe). Hayden had been operating as the No. 3 corner for Jacksonville, playing primarily in slot coverage this season and filling in for Bouye and Jalen Ramsey whenever they've been banged up. Look for Hayden to see a snap increase while he's in the starting lineup.
Hayden has a groin injury and is questionable for Sunday's game at Houston.
Hayden was added to the injury report as a limited participant Friday, so the specifics of the injury remain unclear. If able to play, the 28-year-old has a chance for an increased role in the season finale with A.J. Bouye (toe) already ruled out.
Hayden had eight tackles (seven solo) and a pass defensed in Sunday's loss to the Steelers.
Hayden's second game of the season was an unusually productive one, as the eight tackles are his highest total since he recorded 13 during Week 9 of the 2015 season. The 28-year-old had an unceremonious finish to the game, as he wiped out his own interception in the end zone with a facemask penalty, and he was then penalized for defensive holding as the Steelers scored the game-winning touchdown shortly thereafter. Hayden is likely to return to a more modest tackle total against the run-oriented Bills next week.
Hayden (toe) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice.
Hayden appears to have made good use of the Jaguars' bye week, and is fully healthy to enter Week 10. The veteran cornerback seems on track to suit up for the first time since Week 2, and will attempt to contain the high powered Colts' offense Sunday.
