Adesmad signed with the Buccaneers on Monday, Scott Smith of the team's official site reports.
Abdesmad was let go by the Titans a week ago after spending most of the 2016 season on the team's practice squad. He played in just two games and recorded one tackle. He'll serve as a depth option at defensive end following the placement of Justin Trattou (undisclosed) on injured reserve.
Tennessee waived Abdesmad on Monday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.
The Titans needed to open up a roster spot to bring back wideout Tajae Sharpe (foot) from the preseason Physically Unable to Perform list, and it ended up coming at Abdesmad's expense. The defensive end appeared in two games for Tennessee last season, logging one tackle.
Abdesmad (ankle) was active for last Saturday's preseason opener against the Jets.
Abdesmad was put on injured reserve towards the end of last season after appearing in just two games with the Titans, recording one tackle in a reserve role. He teamed up with linebacker Aaron Wallace for a sack in the team's contest with the Jets and is expected to play that reserve role once again.
Abdesmad (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
The defensive end suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's loss to the Jaguars, effectively ending his season. In two games with the team, he recorded one tackle and primarily served a reserve role. The Titans promoted Antwaun Woods from the practice squad in a corresponding move.
Abdesmad suffered a high ankle sprain in Saturday's loss to Jacksonville, Terry McCormick of TitansInsider.com reports.
A high-ankle sprain can take as long as six weeks to recover from, though it's possible Abdesmad could play through the injury. His practice status this week will give a better indication of his ability to play in Week 17.
Abdesmad was promoted to the Titans' active roster Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.
With defensive ends Jurrell Casey (foot) and Karl Klug (Achilles) both dealing with injuries, the Titans decided to promote Abdesmad in the hopes of bolstering their defensive line. The rookie spent the preseason with the Titans before being cut prior to the beginning of the regular season and then was eventually brought back onto the practice squad.
