Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Injury may be long-term
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Pete Carroll said that Jackson (head) was placed on IR on Sunday due to a spinal condition, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Carroll noted that Jackson's condition "makes it possibly dangerous" to play long-term. He suffered the injury during a mock game Aug. 23, the severity of which required him to be transported to a hospital.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Placed on IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Seahawks placed Jackson (head) on injured reserve Sunday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Jackson suffered a brutal head injury that sent him to the hospital during a mock game Aug. 23. He'll be able to play again this year if he reaches an injury settlement with the Seahawks, but his primary focus is getting healthy.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Exits on cart Saturday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson was carted off the field during Saturday's mock game with an apparent head injury, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Jackson was injured during a mock game Saturday, and head coach Pete Carroll described the injury as "a knockout punch" when Jackson collided with Cedric Ogbuehi and was "momentarily unconscious." The 28-year-old defensive end was taken to the hospital. There should be further information on Jackson's injury in the upcoming days.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Back with Seattle
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Seahawks have re-signed Jackson, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Jackson was released last month when the Seahawks trimmed their roster down to 80 players, but he's been brought back to bolster the team's defensive end depth. The 27-year-old logged 16 tackles and two sacks in 15 games with Seattle in 2019.

Branden Jackson: Let go by Seattle
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson was cut by the Seahawks on Sunday, Aaron J. Fentress of The Oregonian reports.

Jackson was given a tender as a restricted free agent this offseason, which he signed in April. The 27-year-old served in a rotational role for most of 2019, recording 20 total tackles and two sacks in 15 games. He will likely have a good chance to find a role elsewhere around the league.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Officially signs contract tender
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson officially signed his contract tender Tuesday, Ben Arthur of SeattlePI.com reports.

Seattle tendered the 27-year-old as a restricted free agent in March, and he'll remain with the team after not receiving an offer sheet from any other clubs. Jackson served in a rotational role for most of 2019, recording 20 total tackles and two sacks in 15 games.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Receives tender as RFA
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson received a contract tender for 2020 from the Seahawks on Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Jackson worked in a rotational role for most of 2019 and totaled 20 tackles (14 solo) and two sacks in 15 games. The 27-year-old can still receive offer sheets from other interested teams as a restricted free agent.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Tallies two sacks in 2019
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson finished with 20 tackles over 15 regular-season appearances.

Jackson enjoyed an increase in snaps in 2019 in part due to merit, but also because Jadeveon Clowney (core) and Ezekiel Ansah (neck) battled injuries. The 27-year-old even started three games, but he also a healthy scratch once. Jackson will be an unrestricted free agent in March if he isn't re-signed by the Seahawks. If the Texas Tech product sticks with the team, however, he'll compete with Rasheem Green -- who is three years younger and a better pass rusher -- and possibly Nazair Jones (knee) for a starting role.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Notches sack Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson recorded three tackles and a sack in Sunday's 28-26 win over the Steelers.

Jackson had increased responsibility since the Seahawks' defensive line was battling injuries in the form of DT Poona Ford (calf) and DE Ezekiel Ansah (shoulder). He performed well, recording the team's only sack while playing 37 of 57 defensive snaps (65 percent). His chances will likely be limited once Ansah returns, which could be Week 3 versus the Saints.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Signs ERFA tender
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson signed his exclusive rights free agent tender with the Seahawks on Monday, Josh Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Jackson played in a rotational role on the defensive line on and off throughout the 2018 season, with his highest snap count (40) coming Week 13 against the 49ers. In the end, he totaled 10 tackles (nine solo) and a sack across nine games. He'll look to cement himself as a depth option once again in 2019.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson agreed to a contract with the Seahawks on Tuesday, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.

Jackson was promoted from the practice squad and will presumably provide depth at defensive end. He tallied just 11 tackles (seven solo) and a half-sack across 12 games with Seattle last year.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Notches four stops Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson made four tackles (two solo) in Thursday's 19-17 preseason loss to the Colts.

Jackson played 12 games for the Seahawks in 2017 and recorded 11 tackles and 0.5 sacks. When the defensive corps is healthy, Jackson will be a backup to Dion Jordan (shin). However, Jordan may not be ready for Week 1, so Jackson and rookie Rasheem Green will battle for the starting job.

Seahawks' Branden Jackson: Promoted from practice squad
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jackson was promoted to the Seahawks' 53-man roster Saturday.

Jackson's promotion is no surprise as the Seahawks defensive line was looking extraordinarily thin with Cliff Avril (neck) and Quinton Jefferson (hand) both looking at prolonged absences. The 24-year-old takes the roster spot of linebacker Justin March-Lillard, and will likely play a similar role to Marcus Smith as a rotational defensive end.
