Packers' Devin Funchess: Not playing in 2020
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess has opted out of the 2020 season, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

The biggest addition to the Packers' receiving corps this offseason, Funchess has elected to stay away from NFL action this year. His decision leaves the wideout group much the same as it looked last season. Davante Adams will lead the way and be followed by Allen Lazard. Beyond that duo, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Jake Kumerow and Equanimeous St. Brown will compete for slotting.

Packers' Devin Funchess: Competing for second WR spot
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess and Allen Lazard are the leading candidates for Green Bay's No. 2 spot at wide receiver, Mike Spofford of Packers.com reports.

Funchess signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract in March, likely expecting that his new team would add some wideout competition in the draft. The Packers instead focused on other positions, leaving Funchess, Lazard and Jake Kumerow, among others, to compete for slotting behind target hog Davante Adams. The 26-year-old Funchess had plenty of time to regain his health after a broken collarbone held him out for the final 15 games of last season with the Colts, so he should be a full participant whenever Green Bay is able to practice.

Packers' Devin Funchess: Gets one-year deal with Packers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) has agreed to a one-year contract with the Packers, Jason Wilde of The Wisconsin State Journal reports.

Funchess is signing a one-year deal for a second straight offseason, following a lost year in Indianapolis where he never made it back from injured reserve after suffering a broken collarbone Week 1. He should have plenty of time to recover before the 2020 campaign, likely challenging fellow big-bodied wideout Allen Lazard for the starting job opposite No. 1 target Davante Adams. The Green Bay offense still figures to go through Adams and the running backs, but there's potential for another receiving weapon to establish mainstream fantasy value (even though it didn't quite work out that way last year).

Devin Funchess: Nearing deal with Green Bay
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) is expected to sign with the Packers in the near future, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

The particulars of Funchess' pending deal with Green Bay aren't yet known, but he'll likely be forced to settle for a one- or two-year deal with a modest amount of guaranteed money after a broken collarbone kept him sidelined for all but one game with the Colts last season. Assuming he finalizes a contract and proves healthy for the start of camp, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Funchess could contend for a starting role in a Packers wideout corps that often lacked reliable options beyond top target Davante Adams in 2019. The 25-year-old turned in his best season in 2017 with the Panthers, recording 63 catches for 840 yards and eight touchdowns while playing all 16 games.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Could return to Indy
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

General manager Chris Ballard suggested Funchess (collarbone) could re-sign with the Colts during the offseason, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Funchess was unable to make good on his one-year, $10 million contract, missing the Colts' final 15 games after suffering a broken collarbone Week 1 and requiring surgery. He should be healthy before the start of the new league year in mid-March, and it sounds like the Colts would consider re-signing him at a lower price.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Won't return in 2019
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) won't be activated from injured reserve this season, Stephen Holder of The Athletic reports.

Funchess broke his collarbone near the end of the Colts' season-opening loss to the Chargers, resulting in a move to injured reserve. The Colts opened his 21-day window to return to the 53-man roster on Nov. 13, but despite getting some on-field reps the last three weeks, Funchess will miss the rest of the campaign, as the plate inserted to stabilize his collarbone didn't work out as hoped, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Funchess is one of four Indianapolis wideouts on IR, joining Chester Rogers (knee), Daurice Fountain (ankle) and Steve Ishmael (knee).

Colts' Devin Funchess: Not expected back from IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Colts don't plan to activate Funchess (collarbone) from injured reserve prior to the Dec. 4 deadline to do so, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Funchess has been sidelined since fracturing his collarbone in the season opener, but the Colts cleared him to resume practicing Nov. 13 with the expectation that he would eventually rejoin the 53-man roster. As Rapoport notes, Funchess's collarbone hasn't quite healed as Indianapolis anticipated, with the plate the wideout had inserted into his shoulder apparently not remedying the situation. With Funchess now in line to miss the rest of the season, the Colts will continue to rely on Zach Pascal, Marcus Johnson, Chester Rogers and Parris Campbell (hand) to fill out their receiver ranks when top option T.Y. Hilton (calf) is healthy again.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Not ready to play
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) won't play Sunday against the Titans, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Though Funchess will remain on injured reserve for another week, coach Frank Reich is hopeful that the wideout will be ready for activation by Dec. 4, the deadline for him to rejoin the 53-man roster in order to play again this season, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin. Meanwhile, fellow wideout Parris Campbell (hand) is closer to a return to action and could play this weekend, potentially giving some welcome reinforcement to a banged-up Colts pass-catching corps.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Hasn't been activated
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) has yet to be activated of injured reserve as Thursday's game against the Texans approaches, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Per Bowen, it appears as though the wideout has yet to log a practice in a full-contact jersey since breaking his collarbone in Week 1. With that, it appears as though the soonest date Funchess will suit up for a game is Dec. 1, when the Colts face the Titans in Week 13.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Won't play against Jacksonville
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) won't play Sunday against Jacksonville, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Coach Frank Reich telegraphed that Funchess wouldn't be activated from injured reserve this week when he noted a day earlier that the wide receiver's collarbone still needs time to heal. Funchess returned to practice Wednesday while wearing a non-contact jersey, but he'll need to advance to full-contact work and receive clearance from doctors before rejoining the 53-man roster. Upon his return, Funchess should assume a key role in the Colts' receiving corps, given that T.Y. Hilton (calf) and Parris Campbell (hand) are dealing with injuries of their own.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Not yet cleared
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Though Funchess has returned to practice, he won't be cleared to play until it's been determined that his collarbone has fully healed, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

With that in mind, Chappell suggests that it seems unlikely at this point that the wideout will be cleared for Sunday's game against the Jaguars. That said, as long as Funchess continues to progress without any setbacks, his return to game action is, at least, on the horizon. Upon his return, Funchess should assume a key role in the Colts' receiving corps, which is thin right now, given that T.Y. Hilton (calf) and Parris Campbell (hand) are dealing with injuries of their own.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Sports non-contact jersey
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) wore a red non-contact jersey during Wednesday's practice, Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Funchess participated in practice Wednesday for the first time since suffering a clavicle injury Week 1, meaning the Colts now have a 21-day window to evaluate him for a return from injured reserve. Coach Frank Reich said that Funchess still "has to get certain things done and scans done to make sure he's fully cleared and ready to go," and it's essential that the big-bodied wideout would first need to resume taking contact before having any shot at suiting up Sunday versus Jacksonville. In any case, Wednesday's practice represents a notable step in the right direction. With T.Y. Hilton (calf) and Parris Campbell (hand) both nursing injuries, Funchess' presence would provide a much-needed boost for Indianapolis' receiving corps.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Set to return to practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) will return to practice Wednesday.

Funchess landed on injured reserve after suffering a clavicle injury during Week 1 action, but he'll be back at practice Wednesday after gaining medical clearance. The Colts will now have a 21-day window to decide if or when to move the wideout to their active roster. Assuming no setbacks, Funchess would provide a big boost to an Indianapolis receiving corps that could use some depth with Parris Campbell currently out with a hand injury and T.Y. Hilton dealing with a calf issue.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Should practice Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) is expected to return to practice Week 11, Zak Keefer of The Athletic reports.

Assuming Funchess returns to the practice field, he'll be one of the Colts' two players designated to return from injured reserve. He's eligible to play Sunday against the Jaguars, although it's unsettled whether he'll be ready for game action yet. The Colts could use the support at wideout since T.Y. Hilton (calf) is slated to miss another game and Parris Campbell (hand) will be out even longer. Funchess posted 44 receptions for 549 yards and four touchdowns with the Panthers last year, and he could be in line for a lead role as long as Hilton is out.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Sidelined another week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Frank Reich said Wednesday that Funchess (shoulder) will "probably not" practice Week 10, Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Funchess is still a candidate to come off injured reserve at some point later this season, but a timetable for his return to practice remains undetermined. The 25-year-old was eligible to resume practicing as early as Week 8, but he's still not yet ready to go. With T.Y. Hilton (calf) and Parris Campbell (hand) both in danger of missing multiple weeks, Funchess' presence down the stretch would be a notable boost for Indianapolis' receiving corps. He's recovering from a broken collarbone suffered Week 1.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Not expected to practice this week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Frank Reich said Wednesday that Funchess (shoulder) "probably" won't practice Week 9, Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Funchess was eligible to resume practicing as soon as Week 8, but it appears he still needs more time to get physically ready. Whenever Funchess does resume practicing, the Colts will have a 21-day window to evaluate him for a return to the roster. Once he's deemed healthy enough to play, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound wideout could provide the Colts offense with a valuable complement to top target T.Y. Hilton.

Colts' Devin Funchess: May not practice this week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess (collarbone) may not resume practicing until Week 9, Kevin Bowen of 1070 The Fan Indianapolis reports.

Funchess is still expected to be activated from IR at some point in the season, but he won't be designated for a return until he's cleared to practice again. Once he practices, the Colts will have a 21-day window to evaluate Funchess for a return to the roster.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Return from IR in the cards
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Colts are expected to activate Funchess (collarbone) from injured reserve later in the season, Andrew Walker of the team's official site reports.

Funchess is eligible to resume practicing Week 8, and he could return to game action for the Colts as soon as Week 11 versus Jacksonville. The 25-year-old suffered a broken collarbone during Indianapolis' season-opener against the Chargers, for which he underwent surgery. If the big-bodied Funchess is indeed able to return down the stretch of the season, he'll provide a boost to Indianapolis' receiving corps behind No. 1 option T.Y. Hilton.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Lands on IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Head coach Frank Reich said Monday that Funchess (shoulder) had a procedure for his broken collarbone and will be placed on injured reserve, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Chappell also reported that Reich doesn't believe the injury will end Funchess' season. The 25-year-old sustained the injury going up for a jump ball in Sunday's season-opening loss to the Chargers. Deon Cain and Parris Campbell are likely candidates to see more work while Funchess is sidelined.

Colts' Devin Funchess: Suffers broken collarbone
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Funchess suffered a broken collarbone in Sunday's loss to the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Funchess hurt himself going up for a jump ball in the end zone. He caught three of five targets for 32 yards prior to exiting. The wideout is scheduled to receive a second opinion on the injury within the next few days, but the Colts are bracing for the likelihood that he'll require surgery. Deon Cain and Parris Campbell could have larger roles in the offense while Funchess is out.
