Luke Falk: Waived by New York
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk was waived by the Jets on Friday, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.

With Sam Darnold (illness) back in action this weekend and the Jets re-signing David Fales to serve as his backup, Falk's time on the active roster has come to end. Should he clear waivers, he will likely return to the team's practice roster, which is where he started the regular season.

Jets' Luke Falk: Moves into backup role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk will serve as the Jets' No. 2 quarterback in Week 6 with the team announcing Tuesday that Sam Darnold (illness) would return from a three-game absence to start Sunday against the Cowboys, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Following a Week 4 bye, the Jets had been preparing for Darnold to return to action ahead of last weekend's loss to the Eagles, but he ultimately failed to receive full medical clearance in advance of the contest. That development resulted in Falk picking up another starting nod, though he only had the benefit of one practice worth of first-team reps ahead of the 31-6 loss. During his three outings (two starts) this season, Falk has completed a respectable 64.4 percent of his passes but only managed 5.7 yards per attempt and a 0:3 TD:INT while taking 16 sacks.

Jets' Luke Falk: Cleared from possible concussion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk was checked for a concussion and cleared on the sideline at the end of Sunday's loss to the Eagles, Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports.

That explains why Falk was removed late in the game. While his health is no longer in question for the team's Week 6 matchup with Dallas, the Jets would be in trouble if Falk is the starter given his poor play.

Jets' Luke Falk: Exits late in abhorrent outing
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk exited after getting sacked late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 31-6 loss to the Eagles, Andy Vasquez of The Record reports. He completed 15 of 26 passes for 120 yards and two interceptions and lost one of two fumbles.

It's unclear if Falk's late removal was precautionary, performance-related or due to injury. Falk's first interception was returned 51 yards for a touchdown and his fumble saw the ball taken right out of his hands and returned 44 yards for a TD. It's apparent that the third-stringer isn't an NFL-level quarterback. Running back Le'Veon Bell is the only Jets player even worth fantasy consideration as long as Falk remains under center, but Falk's tenure as the starter could be coming to a close with Sam Darnold (mononucleosis) aiming to return by the team's Week 6 meeting with Dallas. If neither Darnold nor Falk are able to suit up, the next man up would presumably be David Fales.

Jets' Luke Falk: Starting again this week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk will start at quarterback Sunday against the Eagles, Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York reports.

Fellow quarterback Sam Darnold (illness) had a chance to return to action in Week 5, but he was not cleared to play by the Jets' medical staff, so Falk will get another start coming out of the Jets' Week 4 bye. Falk and the Jets' offensive line will be tested by a stout Philadelphia front, but for fantasy purposes Falk's matchup could not be much better -- injuries have thinned the Eagles' cornerback ranks, and the team is giving up the most passing yards per game in the league heading into Week 5.

Jets' Luke Falk: Taking practice reps
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk and Sam Darnold (illness) will both receive practice reps Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Darnold is returning to practice as a limited participant, with the Jets monitoring his ability to handle increased cardio work following a three-week layoff. It sounds like Darnold is no better than a 50-50 proposition for Sunday's game in Philadelphia, so Falk has a decent chance to make his second start.

Jets' Luke Falk: Struggles in first start
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk completed 12 of 22 passes for 98 yards and an interception in Sunday's 30-14 loss to the Patriots.

Falk played well in relief last week but looked like a deer in the headlights in his first start, as the offense could barely move the ball (New York's two touchdowns came on a special teams play and a defensive play). The Jets are thankfully on bye in Week 4, which will hopefully give ailing starter Sam Darnold (mononucleosis) enough time to recover. If Falk's out there against the Eagles in Week 5, it will be hard to trust anybody in New York's passing game.

Jets' Luke Falk: Officially named Week 3 starter
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Coach Adam Gase announced Tuesday that Falk would serve as the Jets' starting quarterback Week 3 against the Patriots, Al Iannazzone of Newsday reports. "Luke will be the starter until Sam [Darnold] gets back," Gase said.

The Jets will be breaking in their third starting quarterback in as many games after Trevor Siemian exited early in Monday's 23-3 loss to the Browns with a left ankle injury that will require season-ending surgery. With Darnold also sidelined through at least the Jets' Week 4 bye while recovering from mononucleosis, Falk is the lone healthy quarterback on the roster, so it comes as little surprise that he'll step in as the team's new starter. A 2018 sixth-round pick who was signed off the practice squad prior to Monday's contest, Falk acquitted himself well in his NFL debut. While coming on in relief of Siemian, Falk committed no turnovers and completed 20 of 25 attempts for 198 yards.

Jets' Luke Falk: Week 3 start likely on tap
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk appears likely to serve as the Jets' starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Patriots with Sam Darnold (illness) and Trevor Siemian (ankle) not expected to be available for the contest, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Heading into Monday's loss to the Browns, the Jets were already preparing to be without Darnold until Week 5 while he recovered from mononucleosis. Siemian picked up the starting nod in place of Darnold on Monday but lasted just one and a half quarters before exiting with what appeared to be a serious left ankle injury. Falk, who had just signed off the practice squad earlier in the day, impressed in relief of Siemian, completing 20 of 25 attempts for 198 yards in the 23-3 loss. Unless Siemian's upcoming MRI delivers better news than anticipated, he'll likely be sidelined for at least one game, leaving Falk to pick up his first career start. In such a scenario, the Jets would presumably add another healthy quarterback to the roster to provide depth behind Falk.

Jets' Luke Falk: Proficient in relief of Siemian
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk completed 20 of 25 attempts for 198 yards during Monday's 23-3 loss to Cleveland.

The results certainly were not reflected on the scoreboard, but Falk's baptism-by-fire NFL debut was far from disastrous, as the 2018 sixth-round pick completed 80 percent of his passes and led New York into scoring position twice over the course of nine offensive drives at the helm. The situation at quarterback for Week 3 is yet to be fully sorted out, but if Trevor Siemian (ankle) proves incapable of suiting up against the Patriots, Falk is in line to get his first career starting nod against a New England defense that has surrendered three points on 24 possessions thus far this season.

Jets' Luke Falk: Set to back up Siemian
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Jets officially promoted Falk to the active roster Monday.

Falk hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL since being selected in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Titans. The 24-year-old was productive for Washington State in college with 3,593 yards, 30 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in his senior year. He'll serve as the backup to Trevor Siemian while Sam Darnold (illness) is out.

Jets' Luke Falk: Promoted to active roster
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk will be promoted to the Jets' active roster this week and operate as the backup quarterback with Sam Darnold (illness) ruled out, Andy Vasquez of The Bergen Record reports.

Falk was claimed off waivers by the Jets back in May before ultimately being released and signed to their practice squad at the end of August. Now, after just one week, Falk will be back on the active roster to serve as the backup to Trevor Siemian. With Darnold's absence expected to last multiple weeks, Falk will likely stay on New York's roster through the team's bye week in Week 4.

Jets' Luke Falk: Plucked by Jets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk was claimed off waivers by the Jets on Thursday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Barely a day after being waived by the Dolphins, Falk is reunited with head coach Adam Gase in New York. The Washington State product was inactive for four games in Miami last season before going on injured reserve with a wrist injury. Falk was waived Wednesday without an injury tag, which suggests that he is now healthy.

Luke Falk: Cut by Miami
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Dolphins waived Falk on Wednesday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports.

Drafted in the sixth round out of Washington State last spring, Falk spent the majority of the 2018 season on the Dolphins' practice squad with an undisclosed wrist injury. That he was waived without a reported injury tag suggests he's now healthy, but Falk's future in the league is nonetheless bleak after being deemed unworthy to stick around on a Miami team that likely has the shakiest quarterback room in the NFL.

Dolphins' Luke Falk: Lands on IR
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk (wrist) was placed on injured reserve Friday.

Falk, who was picked by the Titans in the sixth round of April's draft, still hasn't suited up for an NFL game. He'll be sidelined for the remainder of the season unless he reaches an injury settlement.

Dolphins' Luke Falk: Will miss Week 5
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk (wrist) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bengals, Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

Falk was a full participant in practice this week before being held out of Friday's session with an apparent wrist injury, but the Dolphins offense won't miss him in Week 5 with Ryan Tannehill drawing the start at quarterback. If Tannehill were to go down, however, Brock Osweiler and David Fales are slated to provide additional depth.

Dolphins' Luke Falk: Not dressing Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk is a healthy inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Titans, Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald reports.

The rookie won't suit up against the Titans, who picked him in the sixth round of April's draft. Instead, Brock Osweiler will serve as Ryan Tannehill's backup.

Dolphins' Luke Falk: Claimed by Miami
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk was claimed off waivers by the Dolphins, Albert Breer of TheMMQB.com reports.

Falk was recently waived by the Titans after Tennessee snagged the former Washington State quarterback with a sixth-round pick in this year's draft. Now with the Dolphins, Falk will compete with Brock Osweiler and David Fales for the No. 2 job behind Ryan Tannehill.

Luke Falk: Waived by Tennessee
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Falk was waived by Tennessee on Saturday, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

If Falk clears waivers, there's a chance he'll latch onto the Titans' practice squad. The 23-year-old possesses his fair share of upside after being a standout at Washington State.
