Morgan signed a reserve/future contract with the Dolphins on Wednesday.
Morgan was waived at roster cutdowns in September and spent the 2017 season on the Dolphins' practice squad. The 23-year-old made a solid impression in his rookie training camp and should only improve as he enters the team's offseason program.
The Dolphins waived Morgan on Saturday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Morgan made an impression early in camp, as he jumped up the depth chart relatively quick. However, he was ultimately unable to make it through the team's final cuts. The Dolphins are reportedly seeking to keep him on their practice squad.
Morgan is listed as the top backup to slot man Jarvis Landry on the Dolphins' latest depth chart, the Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post reports.
Morgan has evidently been turning heads in training camp to the point that he's listed as a second-teamer alongside Leonte Carroo and Jakeem Grant. Along with Landry, the Dolphins list DeVante Parker and Kenny Stills as starting wide receivers.
