Skipper signed a futures contract with New England on Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
Skipper spent a week on the Lions' active roster in the middle of the season and ended the year on New England's practice squad. He'll look to earn a backup role along the offensive line for the Patriots in 2019.
