Iddings (shoulder) was waived/injured by the Panthers on Monday, Bryan Strickland of the Panthers' official site reports.
Iddings was one of a few injured defensive linemen on the Panthers' training-camp roster, so his release will clear a spot for a healthy one in Connor Wujciak, who was signed in a corresponding move.
Iddings suffered a shoulder injury during Wednesday's practice, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Charlotte Observer reports.
Iddings' injury isn't supposed to be anything serious, as his absence is mostly precautionary. He's expected to return next week.
Iddings was waived by the Saints on Monday, Herbie Troupe of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
The Saints briefly experimented with Iddings, a natural defensive tackle, as an offensive lineman during the first two weeks of OTAs, but evidently didn't feel he had a future at that spot. He'll now look to latch on with another team in advance of training camps in late July.
Iddings signed a contract with the Saints on Monday, NOLA.com's Herbie Teope reports.
Iddings showed up to the Saints' rookie minicamp as a defensive end last weekend, but the release of OL Collin Buchanan prompted the Saints to experiment with Iddings on the offensive side of the ball. He evidently impressed enough natural talent to earn a contract as an offensive guard.
