Pringle was waived by the Raiders on Friday, Michael Gehlken of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.
Pringle formerly played at the running back and wide receiver positions, but switched to the defensive side of the ball during his rookie season last year. He'll become an unrestricted free agent if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
Pringle spent parts of his rookie season in 2017 on the Packers and Jaguars practice squads, ultimately switching to the defensive side of the ball after playing running back and wide receiver at Southern Utah. A roster spot in Oakland came available upon the release of fellow defensive back Shaquille Richardson, who was waived with an injury designation. Pringle will provide depth at cornerback for the Raiders throughout training camp with Gareon Conley (hip) and Dexter McDonald (ankle) nursing injuries.
Pringle was waived by the Lions on Monday, Tim Twentyman of the team's official site reports.
Pringle didn't last long in Detroit after signing with the Lions in April. Now in his second season after going undrafted out of Southern Utah last year, Pringle will become an unrestricted free agent if he passes through waivers unclaimed.
The explosive talent played both running back and wide receiver at Southern Utah before moving to cornerback. Pringle's speed has been a selling point for his game thus far, but how he fares leading up to the preseason will likely determine his fate moving forward.
