  • Blake Proehl: Cut by Minnesota

The Vikings waived Proehl on Tuesday, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Proehl spent the 2021 season on the Vikings' injured reserve after tearing his ACL, and he joined the team's practice squad after returning to full health last year. He was unable to land a spot on the team's 53-man roster ahead of the 2023 campaign, but it's possible he ends up on a practice squad once again.

  • Blake Proehl: Let go by Vikings

The Vikings waived Proehl on Tuesday. Just one day after Proehl was activated from the team's reserve/PUP list, Minnesota decided to part ways with the 23-year-old wideout. Proehl had just finished recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in training camp last year, but he'll now look elsewhere to begin his young NFL career.

  • Vikings' Blake Proehl: Returns to active roster

Proehl (knee) was activated from the reserve/PUP list Monday. Proehl was forced to sit out the first four weeks of the season after being placed on the reserve/PUP list in August. The undrafted wideout was then designated to return Oct. 5, and he will now be eligible to make his NFL debut starting with Sunday's game against the Cardinals. Proehl missed the entirety of his rookie campaign after tearing his ACL in training camp last year, and he should slot in near the bottom of Minnesota's depth chart alongside wideouts Jalen Nailor and Jalen Reagor.

  • Vikings' Blake Proehl: Switches PUP lists

Proehl (knee) was switched from the active/PUP to reserve/PUP list Tuesday, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports. Proehl will now be forced to miss at least the first four games of the regular season. The 23-year-old suffered a torn ACL during training camp last season, and he's not quite ready to return to action. Proehl joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina last spring, and drew praise during camp before suffering the injury.

  • Vikings' Blake Proehl: On PUP list

Proehl (knee) was placed on Minnesota's active/PUP list Monday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Proehl suffered a torn ACL during last year's training camp, so it doesn't come as much of a surprise that he still needs some time to recover before returning to practice. The 23-year-old sophomore will face an uphill battle for a spot on the Vikings' 53-man roster if/when he returns to the field.

Proehl (leg) cleared waivers and reverted to the VIkings' injured reserve Tuesday, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Proehl was waived/injured by Minnesota on Monday, and he unsurprisingly went unclaimed on waivers after recently being carted off the practice field. The 22-year-old will miss the rest of the season unless he reaches an injury settlement with the team.

  • Vikings' Blake Proehl: Carted off Wednesday

Proehl was carted off the practice field Wednesday due to what appears to be a serious leg injury, Chad Graff of The Athletic reports. Proehl drew strong reviews during June minicamp, and he logged an impressive practice Saturday. Prior to his injury, the undrafted rookie out of East Carolina appeared to be making a fair case for a spot on the 53-man roster. The Vikings will likely have Proehl undergo further medical evaluations before offering an official update on the severity of his injury.

  • Vikings' Blake Proehl: Draws praise in workouts

Proehl drew praise from head coach Mike Zimmer during spring workouts, who noted it's "really hard to tell" who will win the third receiver role, Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. Proehl, an undrafted free agent, had a strong season with East Carolina in 2020, racking up 47 catches for 577 yards and four touchdowns across nine games. He'll compete with Chad Beebe, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Bisi Johnson, Whop Philyor and several others in what looks to be a wide open competition for the No. 3 and No. 4 receiver roles. However, the No. 3 receiver has had little impact in the offense during the Zimmer era.
