Williams was waived by the Browns on Monday, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Williams spent the final four weeks of the 2018 season on the Browns' practice squad. The 23-year-old wideout has yet to suit up for an NFL game since going undrafted in 2017, and will now vie for a depth role elsewhere in the league.
Williams signed a reserve/future contract with the Browns on Tuesday, per the NFL's official transaction log.
Williams entered the league in 2017 but hasn't suited up for an NFL game yet. The Browns have a strong wide receiver corps led by Jarvis Landry and backed by multiple talented young wideouts. Williams will look to gain a special-teams role with the team.
