Dwayne Bowe: Retiring with the Chiefs
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe signed a one-day contract to retire as a member of the Chiefs on Thursday.

Bowe gave Kansas City a quality return on their 2007 first-round investment over the years and will ultimately go down as the team's third-leading receiver all-time behind Tony Gonzalez and Otis Taylor. It probably won't be long until Travis Kelce passes him in that regard, though. Bowe last played in an NFL game back in 2015.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: On the way out
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Browns have released Bowe.

Bowe, who signed a two-year deal with the Browns prior to the 2015 season that included $9 million in guaranteed money, only saw action in seven games this past season, catching five passes for 53 yards. He should catch on elsewhere on a prove-it sort of deal, but the veteran wideout, who turns 32 in September, has much to prove before re-entering the fantasy discussion.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Highly disappointing 2015
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe, who was a healthy scratch in Week 17's loss to Pittsburgh, finished the season with five catches on 13 targets for 53 receiving yards.

Bowe not only produced what was by far the worst statistical season of his NFL career, but made over one million dollars per catch to do so. Time and time again, Bowe was a healthy scratch in favor of younger receivers that were willing to contribute on special teams as well. It's unclear if this is the end of the road for the 31-year-old, who is due to make $9 million next season. Despite the expected cap hit, it wouldn't be hard to imagine Cleveland's new front office personnel simply cutting their losses with this high-profile free agent signing.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Targeted three times Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe hauled in two passes on three targets for 22 yards in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks.

It was just the second game this season where Bowe recorded a reception, and just the sixth time he has been active. The veteran may see a few more looks with an injury-depleted position group, but it likely wouldn't be wise to start him in the fantasy playoffs.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Inactive once again
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the 49ers.

Per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, it will be the seventh time this season that Bowe is a healthy scratch. Even with Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel inactive due to concussions, the Browns just can't seem to find a role for their $9 million man in the passing game. His continued absence suggests that both rookie Darius Jennings and recently re-signed Terrelle Pryor have both moved ahead of him on the depth charts. One would be hard-pressed to find a fantasy format where Bowe is worth owning at this point in the season.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Healthy scratch once again
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Bengals.

Bowe saw the field for a whopping four snaps Week 12 against Baltimore, but will return to the inactive list for the Week 13 contest. Even with both Taylor Gabriel and Andrew Hawkins on the shelf due to concussions, the Browns didn't have enough of a role for Bowe to warrant putting him on the active roster. Instead, the team will utilize rookie Darius Jennings, who was promoted to the active roster Saturday. This speaks volumes about the team's aspirations for their $9 million man.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Returns to inactive status Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Steelers.

Bowe had his best game of the season Week 9, catching three of his five targets for a total of 31 yards. This was likely due to the absence of both Andrew Hawkins and Brian Hartline, who were inactive for that contest due to concussions. With both of the aforementioned options active for Week 10's matchup, Bowe will return to the bottom of the depth chart and likely fantasy obscurity.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Set for increased role
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe and Marlon Moore will likely have increased roles in Thursday's game against the Bengals, as Andrew Hawkins (concussion) and Brian Hartline (concussion) are both unlikely to play, the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram's Scott Petrak reports.

Bowe will likely be a regular in three-wide formations, but he still figures to be behind Travis Benjamin and Taylor Gabriel in the wideout pecking order. Furthermore, the Browns may have to start Johnny Manziel, as Josh McCown (ribs) appears highly questionable to be ready by Thursday. Even with the likelihood of an increased role, Bowe isn't worth a look in deep leagues.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Gets a chance to play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe is active for Sunday's matchup against the Cardinals.

Bowe has been a healthy scratch in three straight contests, but will get an opportunity to play while Andrew Hawkins is sidelined with a concussion. Despite the active status, Bowe will likely serve as the No. 4 receiver, sitting behind Travis Benjamin, Brian Hartline and Taylor Gabriel on the depth chart.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Looks like a go this week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

With Andrew Hawkins out this week, Bowe appears on track to be active Sunday against the Cardinals, after having logged three straight healthy scratches, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer relays via coach Mike Pettine that Bowe has gotten better as he puts more distance behind the hamstring issue that slowed him earlier this season. While the veteran wideout remains a very speculative play Sunday, it's plausible that this could finally be the week that Bowe is finally incorporated into the Browns' offense.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Inactive again Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Browns catchless wideout Dwayne Bowe is a healthy scratch Sunday against the Rams.

Bowe will be inactive for the third straight week, confirming an earlier report that he is "entrenched" as the No. 5 receiver on the depth chart. Even Marlon Moore was activated for the contest, as he's able to make special teams contributions that Bowe cannot. It appears more evident than ever that the team threw away the $9 millions spent on Bowe.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Playing time not in the near future
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Browns highly disappointing wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is not expected to earn a spot in the wide receiver rotation any time soon, the Akron Beacon Journal reports. "The top four guys are entrenched," head coach Mike Pettine stated.

Despite a contract that contains $9 million in guaranteed money, Bowe has now been a healthy scratch in back-to-back weeks. Bowe began the 2015 season hampered by a hamstring injury, and through Week 6, has been unable to make up the lost time.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Another healthy scratch
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Highly disappointing Browns wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is once again a healthy scratch Sunday against the Broncos.

Bowe has hardly suited up this season, and when he has, it's been in a limited capacity. The 31 year old still hasn't caught a pass . Bowe is no factor in Fantasy football at this point.

Browns' Dwayne Bowe: Inactive Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Bowe is listed as inactive prior to Sunday's matchup with the Ravens.

Bowe saw some game action Week 4 against San Diego, but proved to be far down the list in the pecking order for targets under quarterback Josh McCown. Despite the big offseason contract, Bowe has been targeted just twice this season, as various injuries have limited the 6-2 wideout through the first four weeks. His absence Sunday doesn't appear to be injury-related, however, so it wouldn't be wise to expect much fantasy production from Bowe moving forward.

Bowe was targeted just ince in Sunday's loss to the Chargers.
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hugely disappointing Browns veteran receiver Dwayne Bowe was targeted only once Sunday in San Diego. He remains without a reception this year.

Bowe made the active roster for just the second time this season, but was truly a non-factor in the passing attack. He did see a few snaps, but was dominated by Travis Benjamin, Andrew Hawkins and Taylor Gabriel in terms of playing time.

Even with Brian Hartline (thigh) limited in the contest, it appears the Browns preferred to go with Gabriel over their $9 million man. Despite the fact that Cleveland was forced to call nearly twice as many pass plays as run plays, Bowe did not have a role. That doesn't bode well for his Fantasy value moving forward.

Browns wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is listed as active Sunday against the Chargers.

Browns wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is listed as active Sunday against the Chargers. Bowe could end up working his way back into fantasy relevance in the coming weeks, but we'd like to see him get a full and productive outing in before recommending him as a lineup option.

Browns coach Mike Pettine indicated that wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is expected to be active Sunday against the Chargers
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Brownscoach Mike Pettine indicated that wide receiver Dwayne Bowe is expected to be active Sunday against the Chargers, the Akron Beacon-Journal reports.

Bowe was inactive last Sunday against the Raiders despite not being listed on the Browns' injury report. That said, offensive coordinator John DeFilippo suggested that Bowe -- who dealt with a hamstring issue before his season debut in Week 2 -- was held out because of an injury.

In any case, while Bowe could end up providing the Browns with some return on their $9 million (guaranteed) investment in time, we'd like to see the wideout get a full and productive game in before recommending him as more than a roster stash.

That the Browns are not getting their money's worth from veteran wide receiver Dwayne Bowe could be nominated for Understatement of the Year.
by Marty Gitlin | CBSSports.com

That the Browns are not getting their money's worth from veteran wide receiver Dwayne Bowe could be nominated for Understatement of the Year. He signed a two-year deal in the offseason worth $9 million guaranteed. He has exactly zero catches through three games and was a healthy scratch in Week 3.

In fact, Bowe has twice been inactive. It has been claimed he's still dealing with a hamstring injury, but he sustained it in early August. Meanwhile, embattled general manager Ray Farmer is getting criticized roundly for signing Bowe.

Mike Pettine, however, has claimed that the team has not considered releasing him. "Dwayne will help us, but he's just not there yet," Pettine told ESPN. "...The setback (with his hamstring) that he suffered during training camp, it's just hard to make those reps up, especially now that we're in a practice week."

Bowe caught 60 passes for 754 yards for Kansas City last season, but did not score. He peaked in 2010 with 72 receptions for 1,162 yards and a career-high 15 touchdowns.

Disappointing Browns WR Dwayne Bowe a healthy scratch
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Potential free agent bust Dwayne Bowe is a healthy scratch for the for Browns on Sunday against visiting Oakland, per Tony Grossi of ESPN Cleveland.

Bowe wasn't listed on the injury report, although many surrounding the situation believed that the hamstring injury that bothered him early in the year may still be lingering a bit.

With no official record of that ailment, however, one must believe that the veteran could have suited up had the coaching staff beleived his play warranted it. He has yet to catch a pass this season.

Browns could limit WR Dwayne Bowe until hamstring is 100 percent
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Browns offensive coordinator John DeFilippo has offered that veteran wideout Dwayne Bowe, who has yet to catch a pass, has not fully recovered from a hamstring injury, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.

While Bowe is not listed on the Week 3 injury report, DeFilippo suggested Thursday that the Browns might be inclined to limit Bowe for the time being to avoid an aggravation of the hamstring issue.

With that in mind, a wait-and-see approach remains in order from a Fantasy perspective, at least until Bowe turns in a productive outing in a Cleveland uniform.
