Panthers' Greg Olsen: Won't require follow-up surgery
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Olsen said earlier this month that he won't require any follow-up procedures during the offseason on his surgically repaired right foot, David Newton of reports.

Olsen fractured his foot in a Week 2 game after the Bills and returned from injured reserve in Week 12 to play 24 snaps in a win over the Jets, only to suffer a setback in the contest. The recurring soreness in Olsen's foot resulted in him sitting out Week 13, but the veteran tight end suited up and played normal snap counts in the Panthers' final four regular-season contests and looked like his usual, dominant self in Carolina's playoff loss to New Orleans, catching eight of 12 targets for 107 yards and a score. After ending the injury marred campaign on a high note, Olsen looks like he'll be in store for a normal offseason as he enters the final year of his contract in 2018.

Panthers' Greg Olsen: Scores while topping century mark
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Olsen caught eight of 12 targets for 107 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-26 NFC wild-card loss to the Saints.

Olsen led the Panthers in all major receiving categories, with his performance highlighted by a 14-yard touchdown to begin the fourth quarter. Considering his Pro Bowl pedigree, Olsen's output Sunday wasn't all that surprising, but it was an uncommon occurrence this season. That's because the veteran was limited to just seven regular-season appearances due to a foot injury. Even when he was available, though, Olsen topped 30 yards just once, finishing with only 17 receptions on 38 targets for 191 yards and one touchdown. Although he'll be 33 years old next season, which is the final under his current contract, Olsen can be counted on to bounce back statistically, assuming he's able to remain healthy.

Panthers' Greg Olsen: Held in check
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Olsen caught three of six targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 22-19 win over the Buccaneers.

Olsen led the Panthers in targets and tied for the team lead in catches, but his underwhelming output overall reflected Carolina's offensive struggles. Although he enters next Sunday's finale with just one good game in an injury-shortened season, Olsen's recent increase in usage should at least encourage his fantasy owners. Additionally, in two games against the Falcons last season, he totaled 12 catches on 25 targets for 135 yards and a score.

Panthers' Greg Olsen: Breaks out in Sunday's win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Olsen caught nine of 12 targets for 116 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Packers.

Olsen finally enjoyed his breakthrough performance since returning from injury, as he led Carolina across the board in receiving. The veteran's day was highlighted by a 30-yard touchdown to start the third quarter, marking Olsen's first trip to pay dirt this season. Considering he entered Sunday with just 38 receiving yards on the campaign, Olsen's display -- which came while top wideout Devin Funchess made just one catch for 19 yards -- gives fantasy owners a resurgent commodity to consider ahead of his upcoming matchup with the Buccaneers.

Panthers' Greg Olsen: Plays 59 snaps
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Olsen played 59 of 64 offensive snaps, but failed to haul in his lone target in Sunday's 31-24 win over the Vikings.

Olsen's activity level is certainly encouraging, as it seems his foot injury didn't prevent him from filling his usual role. Going against a sticky Vikings secondary, however, the tight end was unable to get involved in the passing game. As long as he avoids any setbacks, Olsen will hope this Sunday's game versus the Packers allows him play and produce at his established level.
