Safety Sherrod Martin signed a one-year contract with the Bears on Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Martin, who was cut by the Bears in training camp, re-signed with the team after Antrel Rolle suffered a foot injury in Sunday's win over the Raiders. If Rolle is unavailable for Week 5, Martin or backup Harold Jones-Quartey could see the start at strong safety.
The Bears signed running back Daniel Thomas and safety Sherrod Martin on Thursday, the team announced.
Thomas rushed for 168 yards on 44 attempts last season for the Dolphins, while Martin picked off one pass in 13 games for the Jaguars last season.
Despite having ruled out defensive end Andre Branch (groin), linebacker Jeremiah George (ankle) and guard Brandon Linder (shoulder) for their Sunday game against Dallas, the Jaguars are fairly healthy. All the others on their Friday injury report are probable, including quarterback Blake Bortles (left wrist).
The other injured probables are safeties Sherrod Martin (shoulder) and Josh Evans (shoulder), wideouts Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Marqise Lee (ankle), running back Jordan Todman (quad) and linebacker Dekoda Watson (hamstring).
The Jaguars enter Week 10 against the Cowboys at Wembley Stadium relatively healthy. The team released its final injury report on Friday and Andre Branch (groin), Jeremiah George (ankle) and Brandon Linder (shoulder) were all ruled out for Sunday.
