Jones was released Tuesday by the Saints, Josh Katzenstein of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Jones was signed nearly three weeks ago by New Orleans after being released from the Dolphins earlier his year. He has totaled 70 starts in 109 career games as a defensive end.

Jones, a second-round pick with the Titans in 2008, has also spent time with the Eagles, Lions, and most recently the Dolphins. He has totaled 70 starts in 109 games. The veteran will look to earn a role providing depth at defensive end with the team.
Jones was released by the Dolphins on Friday, the Sun Sentinel reports.
Jones is in good health and his release apparently has nothing to do with a legal issue. However, the Dolphins apparently had no plans on playing him in this weekend's wild-card playoff game. Look for Miami to fill his vacated roster spot in short order.
Jones was reinstated from a two game suspension on Monday, Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports.
Jones was suspended on Nov. 21 for two games after violating the leagues substance abuse policy. He will presumably slide back into the defensive line rotation, and help provide depth for the Dolphins.
