Colts coach Chuck Pagano benched starting right guard Hugh Thornton Monday against the Giants for apparent disciplinary reasons, according to The Indianapolis Star.
Thornton was not injured and practiced all week leading up to the game. However, he was sidelined when the game began and replaced by Lance Louis in the starting lineup.
"We wouldn't speak about it outside our facility," Pagano said when asked for details.
Pagano wouldn't reveal if Thornton's benching would last more than one game.
"Time will tell," he said.
Veteran wideout Reggie Wayne (elbow) is the lone injured inactive for the Colts on Sunday. Hakeem Nicks is set to start in his place.

Both Freeman and Jones had been ruled out prior to the final report being released. Holmes was considered probable, while Jones was listed as questionable. The other three players are healthy scratches.
