Cushing (concussion) has been suspended 10 games for violating the NFL's policy on performance-enhancing substances, Sarah Barshop of ESPN.com reports.
Already set to miss the Texans' Week 2 tilt with the Bengals due to the concussion, Cushing will now have to wait until Week 13 to play again. The Texans will look to rookies Zach Cunningham and Dylan Cole to start alongside Bernardrick McKinney, who supplanted Cushing as the IDP of choice from Houston's linebacking corps last season. Cushing was previously suspended four games for a PED violation in 2010, which explains why he was subject to a lengthier suspension this time around.
Cushing (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday's game in Cincinnati, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Cushing never had much of a chance to play with the Texans on a short week. His absence should ensure Benardrick McKinney (knee) has an every-down role, assuming he's able to play.
Cushing left Sunday's matchup against the Jaguars after taking a hit to the head and has been in the league's concussion protocol since. With the short week, it looks as if the team will be extra cautious with the starting linebacker.
Cushing (concussion) won't return to Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars.
Cushing will enter the league's concussion protocol. Undrafted rookie Dylan Cole and 2017 second-round pick Zach Cunningham will be tasked to fill in for Cushing until he's deemed healthy again.
Cushing is being evaluated for a possible concussion.
Cushing will have to pass through the league's concussion protocol before he can find himself back on the field. In the meantime, Dylan Cole is the likely man to slide into Cushing's spot at inside linebacker.
