Nolan Carroll: Will be released by Dallas
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Cowboys will release Carroll (concussion) on Wednesday, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Dallas signed Carroll to a three-year, $10 million contract in March and earmarked him for a starting role, but he appeared in just two games before missing the last three contests with a concussion. In Carroll's absence, rookie Jourdan Lewis has stepped up to deliver quality play in a starting role and has generated 19 tackles, five pass deflections and an interception over four appearances. With Lewis in the fold and promising second-round rookie Chidobe Awuzie also healthy after having missed time with a hamstring injury, it appears there wouldn't have been a sizable role waiting for Carroll upon his return from the concussion. The Cowboys will still be the hook for the $4 million guaranteed in Carroll's contract as the veteran cornerback returns to the free-agent pool.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Won't play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Packers, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Carroll was listed as questionable after being a full participant in practice this week, but questions remained on whether he had fully cleared the league's concussion protocol. The 31-year-old will miss his second consecutive game, with Bene Benwikere and Orlando Scandrick likely to see increased workloads in his absence.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Questionable for Week 5
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Packers, Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Carroll was a full participant at practice this week, but there remains no official word on if he's fully cleared the league's concussion protocol. If he has, the 31-year-old should be expected to play, but at this point it still remains a question mark.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Full go at practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) logged a full workload for the second consecutive practice Thursday, Michael Cohen of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

All signs indicate that Carroll has been cleared from the team's concussion protocol and looks to be on track for Sunday's matchup against the Packers. If he suffers any setbacks, look for both Bene Benwikere and and Orlando Scandrick to see increased workloads.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Not fully clear of concussion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) was a full participant at the Cowboys' practice Wednesday, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Carroll has missed the last two games after sustaining the concussion Week 2. It's certainly a step in the right direction for the 30-year-old, but Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram indicates Carroll has yet to fully clear the league's concussion protocol, and his status for Sunday's game against the Packers remains uncertain.

by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) is inactive for Sunday's tilt against the Rams, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Questionable to play
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) is questionable to play Sunday against the Rams.

It isn't clear if Carroll has cleared concussion protocol yet. Given his questionable tag, he presumably hasn't. That means he'll need to gain clearance from both the team and an independent neurologist prior to Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff in order to play.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Out for Monday's game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) has been ruled out for Monday's contest, David Helman of the team's official site reports.

Carroll has yet to clear through the league's concussion protocol and will subsequently be forced to miss Monday's game. Given the nature of head injuries, it's unclear for how long Carroll will be sidelined. Jourdan Lewis figures to be the primary beneficiary during his absence.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Remains in concussion protocol
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and won't practice Thursday, Drew Davison of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Carroll's absence for the Cowboys' first practice session of the week doesn't bode well for his chances of suiting up in the team's matchup with the Cardinals on Monday night. While the Cardinals' passing attack has been far from potent this season, having a starting cornerback in Carroll unavailable for that contest would nonetheless be a significant blow for a Cowboys secondary that was shredded for 232 yards and four touchdowns by the Broncos' Trevor Siemian in Week 2. On a more positive note, Cowboys coach Jason Garrett relayed that Orlando Scandrick (hand), the team's other starting corner, is slated to practice Thursday, according to Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Considered day-to-day
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) is currently considered day-to-day after suffering a concussion against the Broncos on Sunday, Jon Machota of The Dallas Morning News reports.

The day-to-day designation came from head coach Jason Garrett, but considering that Carroll is dealing with a concussion, it's nearly impossible to truly gauge until he actually clears the concussion protocol. Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring) is also day-to-day, and the Cowboys' are potentially looking at some serious depth issues at cornerback.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Out with concussion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll left Sunday's game against the Broncos with a concussion, Brandon George of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Carroll was forced to leave Sunday's game alongside fellow defensive back Chidobe Awuzie (hamstring), so the Cowboys were left with just two healthy cornerbacks in Anthony Brown and Jourdan Lewis. With Orlando Scandrick (hand) still out, Dallas could potentially be dealing with serious depth issues in the secondary in the coming weeks.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Arrested Monday morning
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence, Claire Z. Cardona of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Carroll, who signed a three-year, $10 million deal with the Cowboys this offseason, could be subject to league discipline due to this transgression. The cornerback has been working with the first-team defense during OTAs.

Cowboys' Nolan Carroll: Signs with Dallas
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll signed a three-year, $10 million contract with the Cowboys on Friday, David Helman of DallasCowboys.com reports.

He fills a big hole for Dallas with both Brandon Carr and Mo Claiborne free agents, and Carroll should be a Week 1 starter this season. The 30-year-old had 55 tackles, 11 passes defended and an INT in 16 games for the Eagles last year.

Eagles' Nolan Carroll: Full participant in practice Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (concussion) passed concussion protocol and was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News reports.

Carroll will now return to the field after missing last week's win over the Falcons. The cornerback's return is a big boost to the Eagles' secondary, as he'll play a major role in slowing down Seattle's wideouts on Sunday. If he sees his reps limited because of the injury, look for C.J. Smith to have an expanded role.

Eagles' Nolan Carroll: Remains in concussion protocol
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll remains in the NFL's concussion protocol.

Carroll already missed a Week 10 matchup with the Falcons due to a concussion, and it appears he has yet to clear the lingering symptoms. He still needs to pass through the final few stages of the league-mandated protocol, which should currently give him a questionable designation heading into Sunday's game against the Seahawks. If he's ultimately held out, C.J. Smith and Jalen Mills could see additional reps again on Sunday.

Eagles' Nolan Carroll: Out with concussion
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll has been ruled out of Sunday's game against the Falcons due to a concussion, Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Carroll's absence provides C.J. Smith and Jalen Mills with the opportunity to see additional reps at cornerback. Carroll will need to pass through the league's concussion protocol in order to play next week against the Seahawks.

Eagles' Nolan Carroll: Tallies three tackles in win
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll recorded three tackles during the Eagles 29-10 win over the Browns on Sunday.

Carroll played 98 percent of defensive snaps for the Eagles on Sunday. While his numbers don't necessarily stand out, his presence on the field was much bigger than his stats showed. More importantly for Philadelphia, Carroll's ankle held up just fine amid concern that he might not yet be 100 percent.

Eagles' Nolan Carroll: Did not practice Friday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (ankle) did not practice on Friday, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Carroll's off-day lets him rest his injured ankle that landed him on the IR last season. The 29-year-old is slated to be the Week 1 starter, although his ankle limitations could complicate things.

Eagles' Nolan Carroll: Claims to never have suffered a broken ankle
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (ankle) claims his ankle was never broken, and although he never revealed the true specifics of the lower leg injury he suffered last November, he is now fully healed and ready to resume practicing, NJ.com reports.

After roughing up his lower leg last November against the Eagles, Carroll was placed on injured reserve with what was believed to be a broken ankle. A clean break could have required a significantly longer rehab process, but with Carroll evidencing his health with a video of himself sprinting up stairs, the veteran corner should be available as soon as training camp.

Eagles' Nolan Carroll: Agrees to one-year deal
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Carroll (leg) has agreed to re-sign with the Eagles on a one-year contract, ESPN reports.

Carroll started the first 11 games of last season before suffering a broken fibula in a Thanksgiving loss to the Lions. He may have to compete for a starting job in 2016, as the Eagles traded away Byron Maxwell but did sign Leodis McKelvin. Last year's second-round selection Eric Rowe also figures to compete for a starting spot on the outside.
