The NFL has suspended Giants linebacker Victor Butler for the first four games of the 2015 season, reports ESPN.com.
Butler's suspension is for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy.
Butler is a six-year veteran. He appeared in two games for the Colts during the 2014 season and totaled two tackles. Butler signed with the Giants in January.
The Colts have waived Victor Butler and claimed fellow inside linebacker Shaun Phillips off waivers from the Titans.
Butler was re-signed Monday after losing his roster spot six days earlier.
