Titans RB Shonn Greene absent from OTAs
by Jason Butt |

Titans running back Shonn Greene did not attend Tuesday's OTA practice, according to The Tennessean

"Obviously we'd like to have him here," Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said. "But he's a veteran. He knows how to get himself prepared."

Greene told the Titans, Whisenhunt said, that he's unable to attend at the moment because he is the caretaker of a child. Greene ran for 392 yards and two touchdowns during the 2014 season.

Report: Titans' Greene pleads guilty to parking, driving offenses
by Jason Butt |

Titans running back Shonn Greene pleaded guilty to lesser charges in relation to a driving-related arrest last October, according to The Tennessean.

The report states Greene "plead guilty to failure to exercise due care and to parking in a handicap spot."

As a result, Greene was ordered to pay a $655 fine. Charges that Greene was driving on a suspended license and resisting arrest were dropped.

Authorities claimed Greene fled from officers twice — once when parking enforcement officer approached him to write a ticket for parking in a handicap spot and when police neared him in traffic for fleeing.

Eventually, Greene turned himself into police for his role in the incident.

Greene finished his second season with the Titans in 2014. He ran for 392 yards and two touchdowns.

Shonn Greene leads Titans' backfield Week 17
by Larry Hartstein |

After often playing second fiddle to rookie Bishop Sankey this season, Titans running back Shonn Greene operated as the feature back in the Week 17 loss to the Colts. Green ran 11 times for a season-high 94 yards, including a 52-yard gain in which he trucked Colts safety Mike Adams.

Sankey rushed four times for 18 yards and was targeted once without a catch. Sankey finishes the year with just 569 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Greene is signed for one more year, while Sankey is under contract through 2017.

He'll look for more Week 17 against the Colts.

Ken Whisenhunt says Shonn Greene (3.1 ypc) had 'hot hand'
by Larry Hartstein |

Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said he gave running back Shonn Greene a season-high 16 carries in Sunday's loss to the Jets because he was "going with the hot hand," reports The Tennessean. It was a strange statement considering Greene averaged 3.1 yards per carry and had a long gainer of 8 yards.

Rookie Bishop Sankey, who had received double-digit touches in the previous eight games, got four touches against the Jets. He carried three times for 8 yards and caught an 18-yard pass.

The Titans visit Jacksonville on Thursday.

Shonn Greene just bad news for Bishop Sankey
by Scott White | Senior Fantasy Writer

One week after he was inactive, much to his dismay, running back Shonn Greene became the Titans' leading rusher Week 15 against the Jets, gaining 50 yards on a season-high 16 carries. He hadn't even gotten 10 carries in a game since Week 5, averaging 3.2 in five games since.

Of course, it doesn't really change anything in Fantasy. Greene is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry on the season and is in no way a receiving threat. Plus, he's not going to replace rookie Bishop Sankey outright. All his resurgence means is that you can quit holding out hope for Sankey to blow up one of these weeks, which is probably for the best. I mean, how many games have you lost because of him?

Enough that you're probably not in your league's championship game, so who am I even talking to?

The Titans will play at Jacksonville Thursday.

Greene had just 16 carries for 30 yards in the last five games and did not see a touch against the Giants.

by Michael Hurcomb | CBS Sports Staff

Titans RB Shonn Greene might face disciplinary action for arrest
by Michael Hurcomb | CBS Sports Staff

Titans running back Shonn Greene was active Sunday against the Texans just a few days after getting arrested. However, he didn't get many reps on offense, totaling one carry for 1 yard in a 30-16 loss.

After the game, Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt said he hasn't ruled out disciplinary action with Greene, per The Tennessean. However, Whisenhunt wants to look further into the matter since Greene has a different version of the events that led to his arrest Friday. Greene was charged with a handicap parking violation, driving on a revoked/suspended license, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk.

The Titans are on a bye Week 9 before returning to action Week 10 at Baltimore.

Titans RB Shonn Greene faces multiple driving charges
by R.J. White |

Titans running back Shonn Greene was arrested Friday night on multiple charges, including a resisting stop charge related to his leaving the scene of an incident in Franklin, Tenn., the Tennessean reports.

Greene was charged with a handicap parking violation, driving on a revoked/suspended license, reckless driving and resisting stop/halt/frisk. According to the report, he parked in a handicap parking space and upon being approached by an officer, got back into his car and maneuvered around the officer's vehicle before speeding off. According to the police, he was approached later when police caught up in traffic and sped off again. Greene later turned himself in after learning there were warrants for his arrest.

Greene was listed as probable to play Sunday due to a hamstring injury, but there's no indication as of yet to how the parking incident will affect his availability.

Titans backs tough to rely on for Week 8
by Chris Towers | Fantasy Writer

With Shonn Greene expected back in the fold for Week 8 against the Texans, Fantasy owners should probably try to avoid relying on anyone in the Titans backfield for this Sunday's game.

Greene and Bishop Sankey will likely split carries this week, a setup that didn't really work out for either of them in the team's first five games before Greene's injury. Greene averaged just 4.8 Fantasy points per game in that span, while Sankey was putting up 3.8 before the injury.

The Titans' backs do have a good matchup for Week 8, with the Texans allowing 18.9 Fantasy points per game so far. Still, even with a solid matchup, we have too little track record of success to think either player is worth relying on here.

Titans RB Shonn Greene on track to return Sunday
by Igor Mello |

Titans running back Shonn Greene was officially ruled probable for Week 8 against Houston after missing the previous two games with a hamstring injury, the Tennessean reports. Greene has 44 carries for 190 yards and a touchdown this season. Bishop Sankey started while Green was sidelined, so it remains uncertain how coach Ken Whisenhunt will use both backs Sunday.
