NFL Power Rankings: Broncos, Packers start ahead of champs

Who do you put at the top of the NFL Week 1 Power Rankings, the team that won it last season -- the Seattle Seahawks -- or the team that I think will win it this season?

I went with the latter, which is why the Denver Broncos are atop the first regular-season Power Rankings of 2014.

The Seahawks were in the top spot since they dominated Denver in the Super Bowl in February, but I moved Denver to the top and the Green Bay Packers into the second spot. The reason I have Green Bay over Seattle is because I think the Packers will win the NFC.

They won't beat Seattle this week, though.

That's why doing Power Rankings can be so confusing at times, but it's also why they lead to great debate.

The Oakland Raiders are my bottom team, and they might stay there all season, although the Houston Texans will push them for that dishonor.

These rankings come with the print-and-save message as always. In Week 17, they will give you all a big laugh and me a dose of nasty coming my way. That's the NFL, folks. Trying to figure it out will drive you mad, but it's also what makes it so compelling.
