Jets' Elijah McGuire: Could see role diminish in Week 7
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

With Jets head coach Todd Bowles stating after Thursday's practice that Bilal Powell (calf) would play Sunday against the Dolphins, McGuire could see his snap count take a hit in Week 7, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

With one of Powell or Matt Forte missing the Jets' last three games due to injury, McGuire has served as the top backup running back in all of those contests, picking up 10 or more touches each time out. After tallying 131 total yards and a touchdown in the Week 4 win over Jacksonville, McGuire might have had a compelling argument for a larger role when the team's backfield returned to full strength, but he's probably lost most of his momentum after back-to-back dud outings. The rookie has parlayed 23 touches over the last two weeks into just 52 total yards, which will likely put him in store for a minimal role now that Powell and Forte are healthy again. While all three backs were active for the first three weeks of the season, McGuire played a combined 23 offensive snaps, accruing 13 carries and one reception in that span.

Jets' Robby Anderson: Upgraded to full practice
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Anderson (ankle) was a full participant in practice Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

It wasn't clear if Anderson would take part in all of the Jets' drills Thursday after he was spotted working out on the side in the portion of practice made available to the media, but he apparently was able to turn in a full workout behind closed doors. With Anderson coming out of the session with no reported setbacks, the Jets have indicated that he'll be available for Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Anderson remains one of the top targets in a weak Jets passing offense and is coming off a busy game in the Week 6 loss to the Patriots, during which he reeled in four of 12 targets for 76 yards.

Jets' Bilal Powell: On track to play Sunday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Jets head coach Todd Bowles said Powell (calf) would play Sunday against the Dolphins after the running back was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

During the portion of practice earlier Thursday that was made available to the media, Powell was spotted working out on the side, which was expected to result in him going down as a limited or nonparticipant when the Jets released their practice report. However, Powell apparently was involved in all of the Jets' drills behind closed doors and looked healthy enough for the coaching staff to sign off on his return to action well in advance of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. With one of Powell or fellow veteran back Matt Forte missing each of the Jets' last three contests, Elijah McGuire has noticed an elevated role in the backfield, but the rookie could see his snap count take a significant hit Sunday with both Powell and Forte set to be available. In the first three weeks of the season when both were active, Powell averaged 11 touches per game to Forte's 9.6, and a similar distribution could be in place in Week 7.

Jets' Robby Anderson: Working out on side Thursday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Anderson (ankle) was working out on the side Thursday during the early portion of practice made available to the media, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

The Jets will issue an official update on the extent of Anderson's involvement Thursday once the practice concludes, but it appears the wideout will be listed as either a limited or nonparticipant. The lack of full practice session this week clouds Anderson's status for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, but if healthy, he'll likely assume a prominent role in the team's passing attack. Anderson saw a season-high 12 targets in the Week 6 loss to the Patriots, finishing with four catches for 76 yards.

Jets' Muhammad Wilkerson: Misses practice Wednesday
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Wilkerson (shoulder/foot) didn't practice Wednesday.

Wilkerson's absence isn't a strong indicator of his potential availability for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, considering he missed practice all last week but still went on to rack up five tackles against the Patriots. It wouldn't be much of a surprise if the Jets take a similar course of action with their veteran lineman this time around, too.
