--Team president Bill Polian on the Broncos game: "I expect a heck of a ball game. They have one of my favorite quarterbacks. I hate to have to play against Kyle Orton. He's really an efficient guy. You have Eddie Royal, who is a big-play player for them. They got Laurence Maroney in a trade, so that completes their running game.

"Defensively, (CB) Champ Bailey was nicked a little bit, but I read where he says he's going to play, and I don't doubt that. They lost (DE) Elvis Dumervil to injury, but they still have a rebuilt and formidable big three-man front, so it presents a totally different challenge than we've faced the last two weeks on defense and a high-flying offense. It's a tough place to play, and a tough road trip."

--Coach Jim Caldwell doesn't think that the high altitude of Invesco Field will be an issue for the Colts this week, calling its effects "minimal."

"I used to work at the University of Colorado for three years. We had a sign that hung in the locker room that said, 'You are now at 5,826 feet,' and had a couple of canisters of oxygen that sat next to it as guys left the locker room. But I think for the most part it was still fairly even. If you play well, and these guys are young and well conditioned, they'll adjust."

--QB Peyton Manning is 7-2 against Denver, including playoff games.

--Manning has completed 177-of-266 passes (66.5 percent) for 2,165 yards, 21 touchdowns, six interceptions and a 108.4 passer rating in nine total games with the Broncos.

--In seven regular-season meetings, Manning has completed 128-of-207 passes for 1,330 yards (61.8 percent) with 12 touchdowns, five interceptions and an 89.6 passer rating.

--Manning has thrown 10 touchdown passes in his last three regular-season meetings with the Broncos. He has had a 10-3 touchdown to interception ratio in those three games.

--"I've played there a few times. (The altitude) is something that we do prepare for. Our strength coach gives us kind of a preparation sheet," Manning said. "Like any road trip, you factor in and prepare a certain way."

--Manning says that it's too early to tell if the Colts are back on track offensively yet. "Probably too early to start talking about being back on track," he said. "I don't know if (in) Week Two you can identify a course just yet. We are looking for some kind of consistency."

--WR Reggie Wayne has hauled in four touchdown receptions in his past three games with Denver.

--Wayne had 10 receptions for 138 yards and three touchdowns in the 2006 regular-season meeting with the Broncos.

--TE Dallas Clark has five touchdown catches in his past two games with the Broncos.

--Clark is aiming for his third consecutive game with two or more touchdown receptions against Denver.

--RB Joseph Addai is averaging 98.7 yards rushing (296 total yards) in his last three meetings with the Broncos.

--DE Dwight Freeney has had three straight games against the Broncos with at least 0.5 sacks.

--PK Adam Vinatieri had a game-winning 37-yard field goal with two seconds remaining in regulation to help the Colts to a 34-31 win at Invesco Field in 2006, the last time that Indianapolis played in Denver. Vinatieri had field goals of 42, 30, 48 and 37 yards in that game.

4 -- The Colts are facing Denver for the fourth time in the last five regular seasons. Indianapolis has won each of those games.

"We've had too many penalties on special teams. We need to make better decisions there, and we need to execute better. While (the Giants win was) a very rewarding and great experience and while you feel a lot better than (after) a loss, we didn't play perfectly by any means. We can get better. There are things to work on. Now, we have to get better and play in a tough place to play. We're in Denver and they're coming off a big win against Seattle, so we have our work cut out for us there." -- Team president Bill Polian on what the Colts need to do this week heading into the game against the Broncos.
