Position Listing
Nate Solder
News
Solder (undisclosed) did not make an appearance on the team's Week 1 injury report.

Solder had been dealing with an undisclosed ailment for several days, but his absence from the injury report seems to confirm it's now behind him. The seven-year vet is expected to anchor the offensive line in Thursday's season opener.

Dont'a Hightower
News
Hightower (pectoral) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Hightower underwent season-ending pectoral surgery nearly two weeks ago and now officially has been placed on injured reserve. Without both Hightower and fellow linebacker Shea McClellin (concussion), the Patriots will have to rely on their depth at the position for the remainder of the season, starting with David Harris and Marquis Flowers.

Injury
Pectoral - Injured Reserve
Eric Rowe
News
Rowe (groin) is inactive for Sunday's contest against Miami.

Rowe has missed the Patriots' last six games due to his groin injury. He was limited in practice throughout the week, which suggests he could be nearing a return. Look for Johnson Bademosi and Jonathan Jones to fill in for Rowe once again.

Caleb Kidder
Injury
Undisclosed - Injured Reserve
Brandin Cooks
News
Cooks caught one of seven targets for 38 yards in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins.

Cooks' lone reception didn't come until the Patriots' final offensive drive of the game, as he was locked down by cornerback Xavien Howard and paid close attention to in the absence of Rob Gronkowski (suspension). With just three receptions for 55 yards over the past two weeks, Cooks' recent slump couldn't come at a worse time for fantasy owners, and Sunday's matchup in Pittsburgh certainly poses a tough task as well. However, considering he still ranks in the top 10 league-wide in receiving yards (924) this season, owners should still be plenty aware of Cooks' ability to break out.

Kyle Van Noy
News
Van Noy exited Sunday's win over the Bills with a leg injury.

Van Noy limped off the field early in the second half and appeared fairly hobbled, although he was still designated questionable to return. The Patriots can ill afford another linebacker injury, with Dont'a Hightower (pectoral) and Shea McClellin (concussion) already on injured reserve.

Injury
Calf - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Stephen Gostkowski
News
Gostkowski made both of his field-goal attempts (from 46 and 33 yards) in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins.

Gostkowski -- who added two extra points in the contest -- is now averaging exactly 10 points a game over the course of 13 contests, a pace that puts him second in scoring among NFL kickers, behind only Greg Zuerlein of the Rams (148 points).

Jonathan Jones
News
Jones had a nine solo tackles and his first career sack against the Dolphins on Sunday.

While Eric Rowe (groin) has sat out, Jones has had ample opportunities to prove his worth, one season removed from making the team as an undrafted rookie. The Auburn product has 14 solo tackles over the last two games now, and if Rowe misses another matchup against the Bills in Week 13, Jones will have another chance for a high-caliber performance.

Dion Lewis
News
Lewis rushed five times for 17 yards and caught all five of his targets for 50 yards in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins.

Lewis had been given double-digit carries in seven straight games entering Monday's contest, but with the Patriots unable to establish a ground game, they turned to passing 43 times. Fortunately for Lewis, he was able to salvage some production through the air, with his output in receiving categories marking season highs. The tailback will hope this Sunday's game against the Steelers, whose defense struggled without Ryan Shazier (spine) in Week 14, will enable him to bounce back running the ball in the city he attended college.

Will Tye
News
Tye has joined the Patriots' practice squad, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Tye gives the Patriots some added tight end depth behind Rob Gronkowski, Dwayne Allen and Jacob Hollister. The 25-yeard-old, who caught 48 passes for 395 yards and a TD for the Giants last season, started the 2017 campaign with the Jets, but was waived earlier this month after catching three passes for 48 yards in three contests with the team.

Rob Gronkowski
News
Gronkowski (suspension) was reinstated to the 53-man roster Wednesday, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

Gronkowski's one-game ban has been served, but the Patriots had a roster exemption for the tight end, which was accompanied by a deadline of Saturday. The team wasted no time finalizing the active roster, however, making a number of moves Wednesday that included lifting the exemption. Although his upcoming opponent, the Steelers, have made life difficult for tight ends this season, Gronkowski has tormented Pittsburgh throughout his career to the tune of 99.2 yards per game and eight touchdowns in five matchups.

Jordan Richards
News
Richards (knee) will be active for Saturday's game against the Jets.

Richards will likely see reps on special teams with usual starting safeties Patrick Chung and Devin McCourty both healthy.

David Jones
No Updates
Trevor Reilly
News
Reilly (concussion) was a full participant in practice Thursday.

Reilly, who missed Sunday's win over the Bills, has passed concussion protocol testing and took the field with no restrictions Thursday. The linebacker should now be cleared for Monday night's showdown with the Dolphins.

Nate Ebner
News
Ebner (knee) was officially placed on injured reserve by the Patriots on Monday.

Ebner sustained the injury on a fake punt attempt in Sunday's win over the Dolphins. The 28-year-old has primarily served as a special teams player during his time with the Patriots.

Kenny Britt
News
Britt practiced with the Patriots on Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Britt, whose two-year contract with the Patriots was officially announced Wednesday, adds depth and size (6-foot-3, 223 pounds) to the team's receiving corps, but it's unrealistic to expect an immediate fantasy splash from the 29-year-old. Brandin Cooks, Chris Hogan and Danny Amendola continue to head New England's wideout ranks, so Britt's main competition for snaps -- once he gets up to speed with the playbook -- will be Phillip Dorsett.

Devin McCourty
News
McCourty led the Patriots with seven tackles (all solo) and a sack in Monday's loss to the Dolphins.

The sack is McCourty's first of the season, as the Patriots defense was consistently unable to slow down a typically-pedestrian Dolphins offense. New England has a daunting task in Week 15 as they head to Pittsburgh to try and contain Le'Veon Bell and Antonio Brown.

Julian Edelman
News
Edelman (knee) said he can't provide a timeline for his rehab from a torn ACL, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Less than fourth months removed from suffering the injury, Edelman suggested that he's making good progress but still doesn't have an approximate timeline. He tore his ACL in the third week of the preseason, giving him more than a full year to recover before Week 1 of 2018. Of course, he'll turn 32 years old in May and already has an extensive history of serious injuries, though his knees hadn't really been a problem prior to this year. Edelman's team-friendly contract should ensure that the Patriots give him every shot to reclaim his status as one of Tom Brady's favorite targets.

Injury
Knee - ACL - Injured Reserve
Vincent Valentine
News
Valentine (knee) was ruled out for Sunday's game against the Saints.

Valentine practiced on a limited basis Thursday but sat out Wednesday and Friday's sessions, so this isn't a major surprise. Undrafted rookie Adam Butler could see an enhanced role with Valentine missing his second consecutive game to start the season.

Injury
Knee - Injured Reserve
Brandon Bolden
News
Bolden did not record any snaps on offense in Thursday's 42-27 loss to the Chiefs, per ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Bolden is clearly behind Mike Gillislee, Rex Burkhead, James White and Dion Lewis in the Patriots' backfield pecking order, but his special teams prowess should lead to him being on the team's active roster on most weeks.

Damarius Travis
No Updates
Patrick Chung
News
Chung (ankle) will play in Sunday's game against Miami.

Chung was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, but his injury doesn't appear severe enough to sideline him. Though it isn't clear if he's 100 percent, he'll be expected to start and see his typical role on the defense.

Johnson Bademosi
News
The Lions and Bademosi agreed to a two-year contract Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Bademosi has made his bones in the NFL as a special-teams ace, culminating in a career-high 27 tackles and one fumble recovery last season. With the move from Cleveland to Detroit, the opportunity may exist for Bademosi to play a role in a rejiggered secondary, but containment on kick and punt returns will again be on the docket.

Injury
Illness - Did Not Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
David Andrews
News
The Patriots have ruled out Andrews (illness) for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins.

Andrews will miss his second consecutive game while he continues to recover from an illness. Ted Karras will presumably replace him at center for the contest.

Joe Thuney
No Updates
Duron Harmon
News
Harmon (knee) played 20 defensive snaps in Saturday's preseason game against the Texans.

It looks as though Harmon has fully recovered from the knee injury that been plaguing him for quite some time. Harmon projects to serve as a backup safety for New England this season after accruing 29 stops and an interception in 16 appearances in 2016.

Stephon Gilmore
News
Gilmore (ankle) is officially active for Monday's game against the Dolphins.

Gilmore was a limited participant in practice this week and was listed as questionable. However, he always seemed likely to play. The Patriots' secondary may have their work cut out for them Monday with Trey Flowers (ribs) and Kyle Van Noy (calf) -- the team's two leaders in sacks -- inactive Monday.

Injury
Ankle - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Harvey Langi
News
The Patriots placed Langi (neck) on the Reserve/Non-football injury list Wednesday, Ryan Hannable of WEEI Boston Radio reports.

Langi's season is officially over, but the good news is that he and his wife were able to exit the hospital earlier this week. The 25-year-old primarily served as a special teams player for the Patriots this season.

Injury
Neck - Out for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
LaAdrian Waddle
News
Waddle (ankle) is officially active for Monday night's game against the Dolphins.

Waddle was listed as questionable after being a limited practice participant this week. The 26-year-old is likely to slot back in at right tackle for the Patriots with Marcus Cannon (ankle) still unavailable, but he could also serve as backup to Cameron Fleming.

Injury
Ankle - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Ricky Jean Francois
News
The Patriots signed Jean Francois to a contract Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Returning to New England for his second stint with the club this season, Jean Francois will provide insurance along the defensive line, with Alan Branch (knee) uncertain to play Sunday against the Steelers. Jean Francois has appeared in a combined nine games this season with the Packers and Patriots, collecting four total tackles.

Malcolm Mitchell
News
The Patriots don't appear to be counting on Mitchell (knee) to return from injured reserve this season, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

A few weeks ago, it seemed that there was a more legitimate chance that Mitchell, who was shut down ahead of Week 1 with the knee issue, would be designated to return from IR. However, with the wideout having yet to resume practicing, it's looking unlikely that he'll play in any of the Patriots' remaining three contests. The team's recent signing of fellow wideout Kenny Britt signals that the Patriots may have already abandoned hope of Mitchell playing at any point in 2017.

Injury
Knee - Injured Reserve
James Ferentz
News
Ferentz signed a contract with the Patriots on Thursday.

Ferentz spent the last two seasons with Denver, where he appeared in 21 regular-season games and one postseason game. Now with New England, the 27-year-old offensive lineman will look to make the team as a depth and special teams player.

Mike Gillislee
News
Gillislee (illness) isn't listed on the Patriots' Week 15 injury report.

Gillislee -- who was under the weather heading into Monday's loss to the Dolphins -- has been inactive five straight games, as he's the odd man out behind running backs Dion Lewis, Rex Burkhead and James White. Gillislee's power-running skills may be needed by the Patriots down the stretch, but for now, he's clearly off the fantasy radar.

Matthew Slater
News
Slater (hamstring) is officially active for Monday night's game against the Dolphins.

Slater returns after a three-week absence from the hamstring injury he sustained against the Broncos in Week 10. The 32-year-old should resume his role as a special teams ace in Monday's contest.

Injury
Hamstring - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Deatrich Wise
News
Wise is officially active for Monday's game against the Dolphins despite his foot injury.

Wise's only practice of the week came in a limited session Friday, so there was a real question as to whether he would be available Week 14. The 23-year-old may be relied upon for a larger role Monday with defensive end and Patriots' sack leader Trey Flowers inactive with a rib injury.

Injury
Foot - Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Rex Burkhead
News
Burkhead rushed five times for eight yards and a touchdown in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins, when he also caught all five of his targets for 45 yards.

Burkhead was more involved in the passing game than usual, perhaps a side effect of the big-bodied Rob Gronkowski being suspended, but his rushing output fell short following two straight 50-plus-yard outings. Nonetheless, with a three-yard run during the second quarter, Burkhead has now scored in three straight games and seven times in nine total appearances this season. Established as New England's goal-line option, a fruitful role in many seasons past, Burkhead's scoring threat gives him decent upside even if he doesn't consistently rack up yardage in New England's backfield committee.

Joe Cardona

Ryan Allen

Cameron Fleming
News
Fleming (ankle) is inactive for the Patriots' season opener against the Chiefs on Thursday.

There was some optimism that Fleming might be ready to play after returning to practice Tuesday, but instead he will not dress against the Chiefs. Regardless, the former fourth-round pick now has plenty of time to be ready for Week 2.

Alan Branch
News
Branch (knee) did not participate in Wednesday's practice.

Branch was forced from Monday night's game against the Dolphins. His absence from Wednesday's practice indicates that Branch could be in danger of missing the Patriots' Week 15 matchup against the Steelers.

Injury
Knee - Did Not Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Jason King

Brian Hoyer
News
Hoyer signed a three-year contract with the Patriots on Wednesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

With the team having traded Jacoby Brissett to the Colts prior to the start of the season and Jimmy Garoppolo to the 49ers earlier this week, the Patriots had a pressing need for a backup quarterback heading into their Week 9 bye. Hoyer, who played for New England from 2009 to 2011, brings familiarity with the organization -- as well as NFL starting experience -- to the table, thus giving the Patriots a viable insurance option in the event of an injury to starter Tom Brady. Moreover, the duration of the 32-year-old's deal creates a scenario that could possibly lead to the franchise drafting a young quarterback this spring to develop behind Brady.

Malcolm Butler
News
Butler had eight tackles (seven solo) and one pass breakup against the Bills on Sunday.

Butler played 66 of 67 possible snaps Sunday, which has been the motto all season. With a Week 14 matchup against the Dolphins, Butler has a chance for another solid matchup since Miami is ranked 10th in pass attempts this season.

Injury
Ankle - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Eric Lee
News
Lee signed a contract with the Patriots on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Lee's signing came on the heels of New England waiving Cassius Marsh. Expect Lee to slot in as a backup defensive end for the Patriots.

Injury
Ankle - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Cyrus Jones
News
Jones has been ruled out for the season with a torn ACL and partially torn meniscus, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Jones suffered the non-contact injury in Thursday's preseason finale against the Giants, and the 2016 second-round pick will have to sit out his second NFL season. He was likely going to play a role as a return man and on special teams coverage this season.

Injury
Knee - ACL - Injured Reserve
Malcom Brown
News
Brown (ankle) is active for Sunday's tilt against the Dolphins.

Brown was limited in practice for the second straight week, but, unlike last week, he'll give it a go this time around. It's unclear if he'll start or if he'll be limited at all in his first game back since suffering the injury in Week 7.

Brandon King
News
King is officially inactive for Monday night's game against the Dolphins with a hamstring injury.

King was listed as questionable after being a limited practice participant all week, and will miss his second game of the season. The Patriots defense is unlikely to be affected, as the 24-year-old mostly serves as a special teams player and depth safety.

Injury
Hamstring - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Phillip Dorsett
News
Dorsett did not see any snaps on offense in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins.

The return of Chris Hogan (shoulder) to the lineup Monday squeezed Dorsett out of the mix, confirming that he's fourth in the team's wideout pecking order behind Hogan, Brandin Cooks and Danny Amendola. Dorsett is thus off the fantasy radar and it will probably stay that way unless additional injuries hit or a scenario exists late in the season where the Patriots rest key players.

Chase Farris
News
Farris (undisclosed) was waived Thursday by the Patriots, Phil Berry of CSN New England reports.

Ferris was waived with a non-football injury designation after spending the majority of last season on the team's practice squad. The Patriots now have an open roster spot with training camp just around the corner.

Injury
Undisclosed - Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Ryan Lewis
No Updates
Geneo Grissom
News
Grissom was signed to the Patriots' 53-man roster Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Grissom was cut by the Patriots in the start of November and rejoins a teams still dealing with injuries on the defensive line. Trey Flowers (ribs) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bills, so this could be the 25-year-old's best opportunity to make an impact defensively.

Marquis Flowers
News
Flowers (knee) is officially active for Monday night's game against the Dolphins.

Flower was listed as questionable after being limited in practice throughout the week, but it seemed as though he was on track to play. The 25-year-old should see a heavy workload against the Dolphins on Monday with linebacker Kyle Van Noy (calf) inactive.

Lawrence Guy
News
Guy will sign a four-year, $20 million contract with the Patriots, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.

Guy has worked his way into a couple productive seasons the last two years with the Ravens. He posted his best campaign in 2015, recording 46 tackles (29 solo) and 4.5 sacks in that season. Entering his seventh season, the 26-year-old will likely reprise that role when the team employs its 3-4 scheme in 2017.

Cole Croston
No Updates
Elandon Roberts
News
Roberts had four tackles (three solo) and two sacks against the Dolphins on Sunday.

The second-year pro had never posted a sack before Sunday, so this performance shouldn't be counted on. Roberts played just 34 of 61 possible defensive snaps, though, which makes it tough for him to be a weekly asset.

Marcus Cannon
News
Cannon (ankle) was placed on injured reserve by the Patriots on Wednesday.

Cannon hasn't practiced in weeks and has been unable to make much progress since sustaining the injury against the Chargers in Week 8. Cameron Fleming and LaAdrian Waddle (ankle) are both candidates to see snaps at right tackle.

David Harris
News
Harris compiled four tackles (two solo) and 1.5 sacks against the Bills on Sunday.

This was the first full sack Harris has recorded since the 2015 season. Although he's listed as the top middle linebacker, Harris logged just 25 defensive snaps (37 percent). It was a decent showing for Harris, but until he can play a full workload, it'll be tough to become a top IDP threat.

Injury
Ankle - Limited Practice on Thursday. Questionable for Week 15 at Pittsburgh
Chris Hogan
News
Hogan (shoulder) practiced in a limited fashion Wednesday.

In his return to the field in Monday's loss to the Dolphins after missing the previous four games, Hogan logged 55 of 61 offensive snaps. With no reported setbacks in that contest, it's assumed the wideout's limitations Wednesday were maintenance-related. Following his one-catch effort in Week 14, Hogan could take on a larger role as a receiver Sunday against the Steelers now that he's gotten a game's worth of action under his belt. Moreover, the Patriots offense as a whole gets a boost this week with star tight end Rob Gronkowski returning from a one-game suspension.

James Develin
News
Develin signed a two-year deal with the Patriots on Monday, Ben Volin of the Boston Globe reports.

Develin played in 30 percent of New England's offensive snaps in 2016, recording three receptions for 18 yards. He's primarily a blocker and a special teams player who shouldn't be expected to have any fantasy value in 2017, though his return is a boost for the rest of the Patriots' running game.

Derek Rivers
News
Rivers suffered a torn ACL and a sprained LCL in Wednesday's practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Rivers suffered the injuries covering a kickoff in Wednesday's practice. The rookie defensive end will seek a second opinion before committing to surgery, but it looks as though his season is over.

Injury
Knee - ACL - Injured Reserve
Nicholas Grigsby
News
Grisby was signed by the Patriots on Tuesday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Grigsby was a member of the Ravens' practice squad but will now head to New England as the Patriots look to bolster a beat up linebacking corps. Grigsby spent the preseason with the Rams before being cut prior to the beginning of the regular season.

Trey Flowers
News
Flowers (ribs) is officially inactive for Monday night's game against the Dolphins.

Flowers was a limited participant in practice all week and was listed as questionable, but he will miss his second consecutive game. The 24-year-old leads the Patriots with six sacks on the season, and the team will have to look beyond the usual suspects for production with leading tackler Kyle Van Noy (calf) also inactive Monday.

Dwayne Allen
News
Allen was on the field for a season-high 56 out of a possible 61 snaps on offense in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins.

In the process, Allen logged two catches (on five targets) for 10 yards. While the one-game absence of Rob Gronkowski (suspension) led to more playing for Allen in Week 14, the Patriots didn't run their two-tight-end package Monday, per ESPN's Mike Reiss, instead favoring three-wideout alignments in the contest. Allen will revert to a backup/complementary role this coming Sunday against the Steelers, with Gronkowski's return to action on tap.

Andrew Jelks
News
Jelks is dealing with a knee issue and will open training camp on the Patriots' Non-Football Injury list, Phil Perry of CSN New England reports.

Jelks dealt with knee injuries that kept him off the field for parts of both of his final two seasons at Vanderbilt. The offensive tackle's health issues will only further hurt his case for winning a roster spot.

Marcus Hardison
News
Hardison (shoulder), who ended the season on injured reserve, is now healthy, Cincinnati.com reports.

Despite entering his third season in the league, Hardison is yet to see the field in a regular-season game. However, now that he's back to full strength, the former fourth-rounder could work his way into the Bengals' defensive line rotation ahead of the 2017 campaign after the release of incumbent starter Domata Peko.

James White
News
White was on the field for 35 of 61 snaps on offense in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins.

White did not log a carry in the game, but he did haul in three of his four targets for 11 yards and a TD. While White topped the Patriots running backs in playing time Monday, Dion Lewis parlayed his 18 snaps into five carries for 17 yards and five catches for 50 yards, while Rex Burkhead logged five carries for eight yards and a TD and caught five passes for 45 yards on 17 snaps. With a committee approach that doesn't favor him in play, White's usage will continue to hinge on game-flow or in-contest adjustments, which makes him a fantasy dart in PPR formats down the stretch.

Tom Brady
News
Brady (Achilles) practiced fully Wednesday.

Brady had been using recent Wednesdays to get extra treatment from the New England training staff, but in the wake of a subpar effort in Monday's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins, the quarterback opted to start Week 15 preparations on the practice field. He's a bounce-back candidate for the Week 15 showdown on the road against a struggling Steelers defense, in a contest that looms large in terms of AFC playoff seeding.

Martellus Bennett
News
Bennett (shoulder/hamstring) will be placed on injured reserve, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.

Bennett was released by the Packers in early November amid an alleged disagreement about how to deal with his shoulder injury. He seemingly wanted to have surgery, but then put it off once he was released and had the option of rejoining the Patriots. A subsequent hamstring injury will end Bennett's season after just two appearances in a New England uniform, and he'll presumably now have the surgery on his shoulder. He'll turn 31 in March and has already dropped hints that this could be his final season in the NFL. Dwayne Allen reclaims his role as the Patriots' No. 2 tight end.

Jacob Hollister
News
Hollister was on the field for four of a possible 86 snaps on offense in Sunday's 21-13 win over the Chargers.

Hollister hauled in his only target Sunday for 13 yards, upping his season-long total to three catches for 37 yards. He remains off the fantasy radar in his role as the Patriots' third-string tight end behind Rob Gronkowski and Dwayne Allen.

Danny Amendola
News
Amendola caught six of nine targets for 76 yards in Monday night's 27-20 loss to the Dolphins.

Amendola led the Patriots across the board in receiving on a night when the team's passing game as a whole struggled with Brandin Cooks blanketed and Rob Gronkowski suspended. With those two nearly non-factors, Amendola was able to produce his third game of over 75 yards this season and also caught a pass of 25-plus yards for the second straight game. Although New England figures to get Cooks more involved while welcoming Gronk back this Sunday in Pittsburgh, Amendola's outing Monday gives him decent momentum in advance of that contest.

Ted Karras
News
Karris joined the Patriots' 53-man roster Thursday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Karras takes the roster spot of wide receiver Malcolm Mitchell, who was placed on injured reserve. Barring injury, the 2016 sixth-round pick will likely remain a depth option for New England this season.

Shea McClellin
News
McClellin, who was previously placed on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, is dealing with a concussion and recently suffered a setback in practice, Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald reports.

The linebacker was eligible to return from IR this week, but the setback now puts McClellin's season in jeopardy. It looks like the Patriots will remain as cautious as possible with McClellin given how long his recovery from the concussion has dragged on, so look for the team to instead use its two available slots to activate players from IR elsewhere.
