Don Jones
News
Jones signed a two-year contract with the 49ers on Friday.

Jones is among the best gunners in the league and led the Texans with 11 special teams tackles in 2016, despite playing in just nine games. Given the barren nature of the 49ers' secondary, he could conceivably carve out a role on defense this upcoming season.

Garrett Celek
News
Celek (knee) was removed from the injury report for Sunday's game against the Titans.

Limited in practice the previous two days, Celek returned to full participation Friday and was thus removed from the injury report. He's been operating as San Francisco's No. 1 tight end, averaging four targets over the past five games. Celek has gains of 61 and 47 yards in that stretch, but he's been pretty quiet otherwise.

Asa Jackson
News
Jackson (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday.

Jackson played just one defensive snap this season, as he was relegated mainly to special teams duties, so his departure shouldn't affect fantasy owners. The 49ers replaced Jackson's roster vacancy with the signing of 32-year-old cornerback Leon Hall.

Injury
Hamstring - Injured Reserve
Greg Mabin
News
Mabin was released by the Bills on Monday, Joe Buscaglia of 7 ABC Buffalo reports.

Mabin was the most recent addition to the Bills cornerback crew, so he'll also be the first man out in anticipation of the team getting at least one injured player back at the position for the Week 7 matchup against Tampa Bay. Mabin's release is also partly due to the need to clear a roster spot for previously suspended lineman Seantrel Henderson.

Calf - Limited Practice on Friday. Questionable for Week 15 vs. Tennessee

Trent Taylor
News
Taylor caught two of three targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 26-16 win over the Texans.

Fellow wideout Marquise Goodwin was able to replicate his improved production with new quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo on Sunday, but the boost in usage we saw from Taylor last week fell by the wayside. The rookie's skill set is best suited for short to intermediate routes, and the 49ers' signal caller felt comfortable spreading the ball around on those types of throws, which directly ate in to Taylor's target share. San Francisco's offense has looked better as a whole under Garoppolo, but it appears that no receiver other than Goodwin can be relied upon for a heavy usage on a week-to-week basis. That said, another favorable matchup against an inconsistent secondary is on deck next Sunday against the Titans, so owners in a pinch in deeper PPR leagues could always take a gamble on Taylor.

Kendrick Bourne
News
Bourne was on the field for 31 of 73 offensive snaps Sunday, finishing with two receptions for 29 yards in a 26-16 win over Houston.

The undrafted rookie has carved out a regular role in this offense by averaging more than 29 snaps over his previous seven contests after beginning the season as a member of the special teams unit. He has has only seen more than three targets once over that span, but the distribution of playing time suggests the 49ers want to get a better look at the possession receiver. It's tough to recommend Bourne in almost any fantasy format considering the high-stakes nature of this time of year, but deep-league owners and those in dynasty formats should at least make note of Bourne in the event an injury propels him into a high-usage role in the future.

Elijah Lee
News
Lee (knee) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.

Lee injured his knee in Week 9 against the Cardinals and wasn't available to play in the 49ers' Week 10 win over the Giants. However, with the 49ers on bye last week, it appears Lee has made a full recovery from the injury, as his full participation Wednesday indicates.

Cole Wick
News
Wick (chest) signed with the Lions' practice squad, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Wick is still dealing with a minor chest injury, but the Lions still elected to keep the tight end within the organization. Wick ultimately fell short of making the team's final roster as a depth option at tight end.

Injury
Chest - Questionable for Week 15 vs. Tennessee
Joe Staley
News
Staley (eye) is expected to return for Sunday's game against the Giants, Joe Fann of the 49ers' official website reports.

Staley was originally expected to miss two weeks and then return following the team's bye week. However, his recovery has apparently gone especially well. The veteran is on track to return to his starting role at left tackle in Week 10.

Louis Murphy
News
Murphy (illness) wasn't listed on the 49ers' final injury report heading into Sunday's game versus the Titans.

Murphy logged consecutive limited practices to end the week, but his illness doesn't appear to be anything serious. Assuming he avoids any setbacks over the weekend, the 30-year-old looks on track to suit up for Week 15. He is likely to continue sharing snaps with Trent Taylor, Aldrick Robinson and Kendrick Bourne behind No.1 wideout Marquise Goodwin.

Nick Mullens
No Updates
Aaron Lynch
News
Lynch (calf) wasn't listed on Wednesday's injury report, Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports.

Lynch has missed the past four games with a strained calf but seems to be in line to return for Sunday's matchup with the Seahawks. However, even if he does play, it isn't clear how big of a role he would have in his first game back from injury.

Jeremy McNichols
News
The 49ers promoted McNichols from their practice squad Wednesday.

After placing Raheem Mostert (knee) on injured reserve, the 49ers required another body in the backfield, and McNichols was the obvious candidate as the only running back on the practice squad. A 2017 fifth-round pick, McNichols was surprisingly cut by the Buccaneers at the end of the preseason slate, despite the team not having lead back Doug Martin available for the first three games while the veteran served a suspension. With the 49ers, McNichols will have a difficult time earning offensive snaps due to the presence of Carlos Hyde and Matt Breida.

Sheldon Day
No Updates
DeAndre Smelter
News
Smelter agreed to join the 49ers' practice squad Monday.

Smelter had a strong start to training camp but was unable to crack the final roster. He now will look to impress on the team's practice squad, where he also spent the majority of last season.

Matt Breida
News
Breida rushed 12 times for 27 yards and wasn't targeted in the passing game during Sunday's 26-16 win over the Texans.

Breida got 12 carries for the second consecutive game, finishing just two attempts shy of starter Carlos Hyde's 14 on the ground. Hyde showed why he's the clear-cut No. 1 option in this backfield, gaining 51 more rushing yards than Breida while also finding pay dirt from two yards out.

Marquise Goodwin
News
Godowin caught six of 12 passes for 106 yards in Sunday's 26-16 win over Houston.

Goodwin has been the biggest beneficiary of Jimmy Garoppolo's insertion under center, as the speedy wide receiver has compiled 14 catches for 205 yards in Garoppolo's two starts after snagging a combined 27 balls in his first 11 games this season. If he's still available on your waiver wire, teams in need of receiving help should give Goodwin serious consideration for the stretch run.

Prince Charles Iworah
News
Iworah (undislosed) reverted to the 49ers' injured reserve Sunday, Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com reports.

Iworah was waived/injured by the team Friday, and he subsequently cleared waivers. He projected as a long shot to land on the final roster to begin with. The 2016 seventh-round pick will now remain on IR unless he and the 49ers can come to terms on an injury settlement.

Injury
Undisclosed - Injured Reserve
Tyvis Powell
News
Powell was promoted to the 49ers' 53-man roster Saturday.

Powell as been on the team's practice squad after reaching an injury settlement with the Colts in September. The 23-year-old should be a reserve option in the 49ers' secondary, but could potentially see some opportunities given the plethora of injuries the unit has sustained this season.

Cassius Marsh
News
Marsh was released by the Patriots on Tuesday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Marsh was traded to the Patriots this past offseason. In nine games with the team, Marsh totaled 19 tackles and a sack. He hasn't seen much action over the past few weeks and will likely cede most of his duties as a reserve defensive lineman to the recently signed Ricky Jean Francois.

Carlos Hyde
News
Hyde rushed 14 times for 78 yards and a touchdown while failing to haul in his lone target in Sunday's 26-16 win over Houston.

The highlight of Hyde's afternoon was his first touchdown since Week 6. He was originally bottled up down the middle on that play, but bounced it outside for a two-yard score to make it 10-3 just before the two-minute warning in the first half. San Francisco has won consecutive road games with Jimmy Garoppolo under center, so Hyde's workload should remain lofty at home next week against the Titans.

Robbie Gould
News
Gould made field goals from 52, 35, 25 and 41 yards in Sunday's 26-16 win over the Texans, when he also made both his extra-point tries.

Gould has now notched 29 points in two games since Jimmy Garoppolo took over as San Francisco's starting quarterback. While it remains to be seen whether his rise in production continues, that's the best two-week stretch Gould has put together this season.

DeAndre Carter
News
Carter was waived by the 49ers on Saturday, Nick Wagoner of ESPN reports.

Carter didn't do much in the preseason to warrant a roster spot. He could be a candidate for the practice squad.

Erik Magnuson
Injury
Foot - Injured Reserve
Darrell Williams
No Updates
D.J. Jones
News
Jones (knee) will not suit up Sunday against the Seahawks, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Jones suffered a knee injury during Week 8's loss to the Eagles, and while it wasn't serious enough to land him on IR, he has already been ruled out for Week 9. The 49ers will either turn to their practice squad or free agency to fill his depth role on the defensive line.

Pace Murphy
No Updates
Victor Bolden
News
The 49ers placed Bolden (ankle) on injured reserve Wednesday.

Bolden exited Sunday's win over the Texans with the ankle injury, which was apparently severe enough to keep him out of action for the final three games of the regular season. The undrafted rookie has acted as the team's primary kickoff returner this season, totaling 396 yards on 19 runbacks.

Injury
Ankle - Injured Reserve
Joshua Garnett
News
Garnett (knee) was moved to injured reserve Saturday, Cam Inman of the Mercury News reports.

Garnett could possibly be lifted from IR at some point in the season if the 49ers elect him to be one of the two players they're allowed to activate.

Injury
Knee - Injured Reserve
K'Waun Williams
News
Williams (quadriceps) is active for Sunday's game against the Giants.

Williams had missed the 49ers' previous two games with the quad injury, but should immediately make a push for a high snap load now that he's healthy again. Over his seven games this season, Williams has logged 31 tackles, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups.

Arik Armstead
News
Armstead (hand) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, the 49ers' official site reports.

Armstead was placed on injured reserve after breaking his hand Sunday against the Redskins. The team signed defensive ends Leger Douzable and Tony McDaniel in his absence. While Armstead could return from the IR, it doesn't seem likely considering he'll be out at least four to six weeks recovering. The 23-year-old recorded 16 tackles and 1.5 sacks in six games this season.

Injury
Hand - Injured Reserve
Laken Tomlinson
News
Tomlinson was traded Thursday from the Lions to the 49ers in exchange for a 2019 fifth-round pick, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Tomlinson, a 2015 first-round pick, started 24 of 32 games during his two seasons with Detroit. He's seen most of his time at left guard during his professional career, and could unseat veteran Zane Beadles for starting duties at that position with his new team.

Antone Exum
News
Exum signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, the 49ers' official site reports.

Exum played the last three seasons with the Vikings, but spent the entire 2016 campaign on injured reserve. Look for the former sixth-round pick to play a depth role behind starting safety Adrian Colbert after Jimmie Ward (arm) was placed on injured reserve last week.

Dontae Johnson
News
Johnson made his preseason debut against the Vikings on Sunday after missing the team's first two exhibitions with a concussion.

With his injury in the rearview mirror, Johnson will look to begin the season as one of the 49ers' starting corners alongside Rashard Robinson.

Ronald Blair
News
Blair finished with four tackles (three solo) and a career-high two sacks in Sunday's 31-21 victory over the Giants.

Blair -- who was recently reinstated from injured reserve -- was filling in for Solomon Thomas (knee), who was a late scratch Sunday. The 24-year-old responded with the best performance of his young career. While the upcoming bye week should afford Thomas enough time to be ready for Week 12's matchup against Seattle, Blair's impressive showing could keep him in the starting lineup in place of the expendable Leger Douzable.

Aaron Burbridge
News
Burbridge (hamstring) was moved to injured reserve Saturday, Cam Inman of the Mercury News reports.

Burbridge injured his hamstring early on in training camp and is now set to miss the entire year. He's unlikely to come off injured reserve unless he agrees to an injury settlement.

Injury
Hamstring - Injured Reserve
Logan Paulsen
News
Paulsen signed a one-year contract with the 49ers on Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Paulsen was let go by the 49ers for the third time this season in late October, but the team's tight end depth took a hit with George Kittle (leg) ruled out for Week 10 and Cole Hikutuni (knee) placed on injured reserve. The 30-year-old will likely serve as the team's secondary tight end against the Giants on Sunday and until Kittle is cleared to play.

DeForest Buckner
News
Buckner (ankle) is expected to be a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.

The team's concerns that Buckner could be sidelined for an extended period of time seemingly ended Wednesday once it was clear Buckner would be returning to practice. His return hints that he'll be available for the season opener.

Donavin Newsom
Injury
Concussion - Injured Reserve
George Kittle
News
Kittle caught two passes (two targets) for 10 yards in Sunday's 26-16 victory over the Texans.

This was the second consecutive week where we saw veteran Garrett Celek not only out-snap the rookie (61 to 20), but also outpace him in production as well. The developing timeshare was already damaging to Kittle's chances of being a standard league fantasy asset, but it now appears that he has become the clear-cut backup to Celek going forward.

Chris Jones
News
Jones (undisclosed) was moved to injured reserve Saturday, Cam Inman of the Mercury News reports.

The nature of Jones' injury isn't clear. He's likely stuck on IR through season's end, barring an injury settlement.

Injury

Kaleb Ramsey
Injury

No Updates
Garry Gilliam
News
Gilliam is dealing with an MCL injury and will be placed on injured reserve this week, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.

Despite the fact that Gilliam's season had already been declared over, the details of his injury hadn't quite been understood. Gilliam should be back to full strength for the start of training camp in 2018.

Injury
Knee - Injured Reserve
Daniel Kilgore
News
Kilgore logged 29 snaps in Sunday's preseason loss to the Vikings.

The veteran lineman is coming off of hamstring surgery this past offseason, but his participation in team activities shows that he will begin the season healthy. Kilgore is the front-runner to win the 49ers' starting center job.

Earl Mitchell
News
Mitchell signed a four-year contract with the 49ers on Friday, NFL.com's Mike Garafolo reports.

Mitchell was cut by the Dolphins in a cap-saving move last week but it didn't take long for him to find a new home. While the Arizona product racked up a career-low 17 tackles and zero sacks last season, he could be in line for a rebound in 2017 if he can secure the Niners' first-string nose tackle job this summer; the incumbent starting nose tackle, Glenn Dorsey, is set to hit unrestricted free agency.

Pierre Garcon
News
The 49ers placed Garcon (neck) on injured reserve Saturday.

San Francisco general manager John Lynch revealed earlier this week that Garcon would be shut down for the season with the neck injury, but the 49ers waited a couple of days before making the IR move official. The loss of Garcon, who paced all 49ers pass catchers with 40 receptions and 500 receiving yards, should open up more targets for the team's complementary receivers, with the likes of Marquise Goodwin, Trent Taylor and Aldrick Robinson all perhaps in line to see their volumes in the passing game increase.

Injury
Neck - Injured Reserve
Malcolm Smith
News
Smith (pectoral) was placed on injured reserve Monday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The IR move give the 49ers the flexibility to add another linebacker. Smith is still expected to miss the entire 2017 season, but is technically eligible to return after Week 8 if his recovery is faster than anticipated.

Injury
Pectoral - Injured Reserve
Leger Douzable
News
Douzable recorded five tackles, all solo, and two sacks in Sunday's loss to the Eagles.

Douzable made his presence felt in just his second game with the 49ers this season. He is now just half a sack shy of tying his single-season high, a milestone he could potentially surpass Sunday against the Cardinals.

Raheem Mostert
News
Mostert (knee) was placed on injured reserve by the 49ers on Monday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Mostert had been nursing a shoulder injury heading into Sunday's game against Seattle, but the knee injury sustained in the game is what ends his 2017 season. The move leaves the 49ers without a third running back for the time being, while Trent Taylor will likely step in to Mostert's prior role on kick returns.

Injury
Knee - Injured Reserve
Eli Harold
News
Harold (foot) is officially active for Thursday night's game against the Rams.

Harold first appeared on the injury report Wednesday, so it was difficult to know his chances of suiting up tonight. The 23-year-old will likely start at outside linebacker for the 49ers Thursday night, although he played only 34 percent of the defensive snaps in Week 2.

Kyle Nelson
No Updates
Tim Barnes
News
Barnes signed a contract Wednesday with the 49ers.

Barnes spent much of the offseason with the 49ers but didn't survive final roster cuts ahead of Week 1. Now back in San Francisco, Barnes will provide depth along the interior of the offensive line.

Elvis Dumervil
News
Dumervil recorded two solo tackles and one sack in Sunday's win over the Bears.

The veteran now has 10 tackles and 5.5 sacks in his first season by the Bay. What may be even more impressive is the fact that he reached Sunday's totals while only logging 14 snaps defensively, his second-lowest snap count of the season. He'll now turn his focus to Sunday's matchup with the Texans.

Tank Carradine
News
The 49ers activated Carradine off injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Seahawks, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Carridine was placed on injured reserve with a designation to return following the 49ers' Week 3 loss to the Rams. He has been practicing with the team the last two weeks and finally appears set to return Sunday barring any setbacks. He is likely to challenge for a starting role at some point, but the team figures to ease him back into action right away.

Reuben Foster
News
Foster recorded seven tackles (all solo) in Sunday's victory over the Bears.

Seven tackles seems a bit low for San Francisco's defensive captain, but it was actually an impressive total when you consider the Bears ran just 36 offensive plays, the lowest total by a 49ers opponent since 1991. While their improved quarterback play (and in turn, increased offensive ball control) is partially to blame, this steep of a snap count drop seems unsustainable, so we could see a return to his usual double-digit totals sooner rather than later.

Max McCaffrey
News
McCaffrey signed with the 49ers on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

McCaffrey ended up on the Packers' practice squad in late October after being waived by Jacksonville, and the move to San Fransisco is likely a result of rookie wideout Victor Bolden going down with an ankle injury Sunday. Signing McCaffrey probably means that Bolden is set to miss time, but McCaffrey is not expected to be much of a factor in the passing game regardless.

Zane Beadles
No Updates
Solomon Thomas
News
Thomas (knee) is listed as questionable for the 49ers' Week 12 matchup against the Seahawks, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio 950 KJR Seattle reports.

Thomas has been sidelined the previous two weeks while nursing a knee injury. His status for Sunday's game does not figure to be confirmed until he goes through some warmups prior to kickoff. Should the rookie ultimately remain sidelined, Ronald Blair and Elivis Dumervil would likely continue seeing increased snaps.

Adrian Colbert
News
San Francisco defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said Colbert (thumb) hasn't been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Bears, but a return for the 49ers' Week 14 matchup with the Texans appears more realistic for the safety, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Colbert sat out the 49ers' Week 11 loss to the Seahawks following thumb surgery, paving the way for Antone Exum to pick up a start in the defensive backfield. Though Colbert put forth a limited practice Wednesday, it doesn't sound like he's progressing quickly enough to avoid a multi-game absence.

C.J. Beathard
News
Beathard will remain in a reserve role this Sunday against the Texans after head coach Kyle Shanahan named Jimmy Garoppolo the starting quarterback on Monday, ESPN's Nick Wagoner reports.

Beathard's recent hip and knee ailments made it easier for the 49ers to give Garoppolo his highly anticipated first start Sunday, which resulted in San Francisco earning its second victory of the season. Although Beathard was available as a backup, Garoppolo's strong showing cemented his starting status for this weekend. Considering Garoppolo's pedigree, it'd be surprising if he didn't start each of San Francisco's four remaining games, likely leaving the rookie Beathard's fantasy value reliant on an injury to his teammate.

Ahkello Witherspoon
News
Witherspoon (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Titans.

Witherspoon suffered an MCL sprain in last week's 26-16 victory over the Titans, but an encouraging MRI the next day offered hope he could play in Week 15. He has logged limited practices all week, and looks on track to be a true game-time decision Sunday. Should the cornerback ultimately sit out, look for K'Waun Williams to fill in across from Dontae Johnson.

Mark Nzeocha
News
Nzeocha was waived by the Cowboys on Monday, Nick Eatman of the team's official site reports.

After the Cowboys acquired linebacker Jayrone Eliott in a trade from the Packers, Nzeocha was the casualty. Nzeocha played in six games last season and recorded three tackles. He's eligible to join the team as a practice squad member if he clears waivers.

Dexter McCoil
News
McCoil was waived by the Chargers on Saturday.

McCoil was active for two games this season and recorded a single tackle. The 26-year-old was let go to make room for running back Andre Williams, and remains eligible for the practice squad should he clear waivers.

Trent Brown
News
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday that Brown (shoulder) would be placed on injured reserve, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The move spells an end to Brown's season, leaving Zane Beadles to make his second straight start at right tackle Sunday against the Titans, and likely for the 49ers' final two contests as well. According to Branch, Shanahan relayed that Brown had been battling a labrum tear for some time and will require surgery to address the matter. The procedure carries a 5-to-6-month recovery period, a timetable that will probably prevent Brown from taking part in Organized Team Activities.

Joe Williams
News
The 49ers are placing Williams (ankle) on injured reserve, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

This doesn't necessarily mean the injury is serious; the 49ers may just be glad to keep their 2017 fourth-round pick without having to use a spot on the 53-man roster. Initially hyped as a candidate to earn a major role, Williams struggled with ball security and learning the offense throughout training camp and the preseason, while undrafted rookie Matt Breida proved to be a quick study. Breida presumably will enter the season as Carlos Hyde's top backup, with Raheem Mostert holding the No. 3 spot on the depth chart. Williams is still an intriguing asset in dynasty leagues, as Hyde can become a free agent after the season.

Jimmy Garoppolo
News
Garoppolo completed 20 of 33 passes for 334 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 26-16 win at Houston.

Garoppolo was intercepted in Houston territory during the first quarter but led a scoring drive capped by a Carlos Hyde run in the second. He added a six-yard touchdown pass to Garrett Celek late in the third quarter after hitting the tight end for a 61-yard gain earlier in the drive. While the former Patriots quarterback hasn't moved the needle much in terms of fantasy production himself, his presence under center has instilled some life into San Francisco's other offensive players. That effect was evident with Hyde here, as the veteran running back's touchdown in this one was his first since Week 6.

Brandon Fusco
News
Fusco (biceps) won't carry an injury designation into Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Mike Jurecki of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.

Fusco missed a pair of practices again this week after playing every offensive snap in Sunday's loss to the Eagles, but it seems as though the team was just being cautious early in the week. The 29-year-old faced no limitations Friday appears set to go for Sunday.

Leon Hall
News
Hall signed a contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The 49ers parted ways with Hall less than a week earlier before he could make his team debut, but seeing the field in San Francisco's Week 8 matchup with the Eagles may be a more realistic possibility. Reserve cornerback K'Waun Williams suffered a quadriceps injury in last Sunday's loss to the Cowboys and is considered unlikely to play in Week 8, perhaps paving the way for Hall to be active on game day.

Dekoda Watson
News
Watson (groin) is active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys.

Watson plays mainly in a reserve role, and it's unlikely he's called upon on defense Sunday. The eight-year linebacker has just four tackles (two solo) this season.

Eric Reid
News
Reid was on the field for all 67 of the 49ers' defensive snaps Sunday, finishing with a team high seven tackles (all solo) in a 24-13 loss to the Seahawks.

The veteran safety tallied seven solo tackles for the second consecutive week after failing to top four in any game prior to Nov. 12. With both Jimmie Ward (forearm) and Jaquiski Tartt (forearm) down for the year, Reid has absorbed the majority of the tackles vacated by his fellow safeties and doesn't appear to be slowing down anytime soon.

Kyle Juszczyk
News
Juszczyk hauled in three of four targets for 64 yards in Sunday's 26-16 victory over the Texans.

It was the versatile fullback's best yardage output of the season. Juszczyk has been seeing a small uptick in targets recently, hauling in 13 catches over the past four weeks. On the flip side, he has been completely absent from the running game, failing to receive more than one carry in any game this year. While his versatile production as a fullback is useful for the 49ers, it would take a unique fantasy format to render Juszczyk a viable option.

Jimmie Ward
News
The 49ers placed Ward on injured reserve Monday, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Ward broke his arm in Sunday's game against the Eagles, so this move comes as no surprise. He will finish the season with 32 tackles (27 solo) and one pass defended. Adrian Colbert could fill in at free safety for the remainder of the season, unless the 49ers elect to shift Eric Reid, who recently converted to linebacker, back to the secondary.

Aldrick Robinson
News
Robinson had just one catch (three targets) for eight yards in Sunday's loss to Seattle.

Robinson technically started the game alongside Marquise Goodwin, but he didn't haul in his lone reception until the 49ers' final drive. While shoddy offensive line play is partially to blame for the lack of downfield action, it also appeared that the game plan was designed to get other receiving options involved. Robinson's three targets tied for fourth among San Francisco receivers. Goodwin has established himself as the No. 1 wideout in recent weeks, while Carlos Hyde (13 targets Sunday) remains heavily involved in the passing game, leaving Robinson behind with several other receivers to compete for whatever scraps remain.

Cole Hikutini
News
Hikutini will be placed on injured reserve this week after suffering an MCL sprain in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.

The team's third-string tight end will miss the remainder of the 2017 season following the injury designation. Given his place on the roster, there's no guarantee he'll stick around for the 2018 campaign which figures to have a fair amount of turnover in San Francisco.

Brock Coyle
News
Coyle (concussion) has been cleared for football activities but not contact yet, Matt Barrows of The Sacramento Bee reports.

Not many defensive snaps should be expected out of Coyle this season, but his progression through protocol bodes well for a return soon.

Jaquiski Tartt
News
Tartt (wrist) was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Cardinals, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Tartt was initially designated questionable to return after suffering the injury in the first half. Eric Reid is the most likely candidate to step in at strong safety.

Pita Taumoepenu
News
Taumoepenu (ankle) practiced without limitations Wednesday.

The rookie sixth-round pick is in line for his NFL debut Sunday against the Colts. However, he's projected to only be used as a depth linebacker and special teams man.
