One year after finishing as the runner-up for the Art Ross Trophy, Malkin captures his first with a career-high 113 points in 82 games. Malkin never went more than two games without a point. He recorded 32 multi-point games, including four four-point efforts and one five-point game.

The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the player who leads the NHL in points at the end of the season. It is named after Arthur Ross, the former Boston Bruins coach.
