Seguin leads Stars to 5-3 win at Boston

BOSTON (AP) Although Tyler Seguin insisted it's no longer personal when he returns to Boston, he certainly played like it was.

Seguin scored three goals against his former club as the Dallas Stars beat the Bruins 5-3 on Tuesday night.

''It felt like it's been a long enough time,'' said Seguin, selected No. 2 overall by Boston in the 2010 draft then traded to Dallas in the summer of 2013. ''It's still special playing here, but it hasn't felt like it has before. Maybe that's just time going by and maturing, whatever you want to call it.''

It was Seguin's seventh career hat trick.

He had two of Dallas' three power-play goals and Stars captain Jamie Benn added two assists as Dallas rebounded from a 4-1 loss in Toronto on Monday.

It was the first back-to-back games of the season for the Stars, who rallied from a 2-1 deficit after the first period and won despite being outshot 39-19.

''That's a real tough turnaround,'' Stars coach Lindy Ruff said. ''I thought we hunkered down and stayed inside until we got our legs going. We did a pretty good job of competing on the inside. We faced a little adversity in the game and we fought our way through.''

Jason Spezza and John Klingberg had two assists each for the Stars and Kari Lehtonen finished with 36 saves. Jyrki Jokipakka scored his first NHL goal and Alex Goligoski scored his first of the season for the Stars, who ended Boston's four-game winning streak.

Boston, unbeaten on the road, has yet to win consecutive games at home this season.

Tuukka Rask had an ugly night in the net, allowing five goals on just 19 shots and was mocked by Boston fans when he made an easy stop late in the game. He didn't have a lot of help from his teammates as Dallas scored on three of four power-play opportunities.

''It's pretty obvious. It's way too porous and too many holes,'' Boston's Patrice Bergeron said of the penalty kill. ''Obviously it's going to be really hard for Tuukks to stop those kind of shots. We definitely got to be a lot better.''

Loui Eriksson and Colin Miller scored in the first period to give Boston a 2-1 lead after Seguin's goal 5:46 into the game. Boston didn't score again until Eriksson added his second with 2:15 left to play, cutting Dallas' lead to 5-3.

Boston lost center Chris Kelly 1:40 into the game with a broken leg.

Seguin tied it at 2-all with a power-play goal 4:37 into the second on a slap shot from the left circle. Bruins fans booed both goals by Seguin, who added his third on a one-timer 1:18 into the third period that put the Stars up 4-2.

''I find sometimes when you're getting booed it makes you play better,'' said Seguin, who won a Stanley Cup with the Bruins in 2011. ''I get booed in Winnipeg, where I have no idea why, but it gives you a little more jump in your step.''

NOTES: Kelly grabbed his left leg after going down in front of the Bruins' bench and stayed down on the ice for several minutes before being helped to the locker room. Boston GM Don Sweeney said in a release that the leg was broken and Kelly would have surgery on Wednesday. ... Miller's goal 7:14 into the game was his first in the NHL. ... Dallas D Devin Shore made his NHL debut. ... Seguin extended his points streak to six games.
