Another day, another suspension in the NHL.

On Monday Edmonton Oilers defenseman Corey Potter was the latest recipient of a suspension, a two-game ban for boarding Ducks forward Nick Bonino on Sunday night.

The hit in-game warranted a major penalty against Potter and Bonino left the game, but only for a short while before he returned. Still, the hit was bad enough as Potter followed Bonino from behind before shoving him into the boards from a dangerous distance. By now it should be more than clear that this is a suspension-worthy hit in the game today.

Potter is the seventh player to be suspended in the last week, joining Anthony Peluso, David Clarkson, Shawn Thornton, Richard Panik, Jared Cowen and James Neal in the dubious category.

Potter has played nine games this season, recording three assists in less than an average of 14 minutes per game.
