Flashback: What NHL players were saying about Gary Bettman before his first lockout

As we reminded you on Thursday hockey fans should be used to lockouts and work stoppages at this point, and at 11:59 on Saturday night the NHL will be starting its third lockout in the past 18 years -- all of them under the watchful eye of commissioner Gary Bettman.

Fun times for all, right?

For an idea of what players were saying about Bettman before the first lockout he went through back in 1994, here's a classic clip (via Reddit) that includes some star players from the time, including Chris Chelios and Wayne Gretzky, sharing their feelings.

Chelios, as you will hear, had perhaps the harshest words.
