Gabriel Landeskog placed on IR, out indefinitely
The Colorado Avalanche have placed forward Gabriel Landeskog on IR. He has missed the last three games after a questionable hit from San Jose's Brad Stuart.

It appears the Colorado Avalanche will be without their young captain for longer than previously expected.
Avs head coach Joe Sacco told reporters Friday that forward Gabriel Landeskog has been placed on injured reserved and will not play in Saturday's game against Edmonton. Landeskog could return as early as Monday, but according to The Denver Post’s Mike Chambers, no timetable has been set by Colorado.
The NHL’s youngest captain suffered head and leg injuries last Saturday in a 4-0 loss to San Jose. Landeskog finished the game but has been out of the lineup for each of Colorado’s last three contests.
According to Sacco, the head injury is keeping Landeskog on the shelf. That could bring some more criticism as the Avs have been under fire after Landeskog continued to play after the hit that is believed to have injured the young left wing.
Head injuries and concussions continue to be a gray area, but there’s no question other teams will be monitoring this situation as it develops.
In his first NHL season last year, Landeskog played all 82 games for the Avalnche. He posted 52 points en route to winning the Calder Memorial Trophy as the league’s top rookie.
