Jaromir Jagr jumped to second on the NHL's all-time scoring list in 2016-17, scoring his 1,888th career point as a member of the Florida Panthers.

But the longtime forward doesn't appear to be done quite yet.

Set to hit free agency July 1 and potentially up for grabs in the Vegas Golden Knights' expansion draft this month, the 45-year-old veteran is discussing a new contract with the Panthers, according to the NHL.

Jagr's numbers dropped during his most recent one-year pact with Florida, but the ageless wonder was also working without several of his injured teammates. And his 46 points, including 16 goals, this season wasn't too shabby for someone with almost three decades of experience in pro hockey.

From the league:

It is not expected that anything will be signed prior to the NHL Expansion Draft, which will be held June 17-21 to compose the roster of the Vegas Golden Knights. Signing Jagr prior to that would force the Panthers to consider adding him to their protected list.

Sooner or later, it appears Jagr will, in fact, be back.
