NHL All-Star MVP John Scott's wife gives birth to twin girls

John Scott has had quite a week. On Sunday, he became the best story of the NHL season by scoring twice during the NHL All-Star Tournament while captaining Team Pacific to the title and $1 million prize. To top it all off, he was the overwhelming winner of a write-in campaign as the All-Star MVP.

Suddenly, despite no longer playing in the NHL, John Scott is the most popular player in the league, but he's got bigger things going on now.

Ben Hankinson, Scott’s agent, tweeted that John and his wife Danielle welcomed twin girls.

And here's the first look at the newest Scotts, Estelle and Sofia:

Danielle had received clearance from her doctor to attend the all-star festivities despite the fact that she was due the following week. She attended with the couple's two other daughters and extended family members. It was a pretty emotional and exciting day for the family, but Danielle tried to keep her cool so as to not go into labor right there in the stands.

The couple planned all along that their twins would be born Thursday and luckily for them, the new baby girls cooperated so the entire family could enjoy dad’s once-in-a-lifetime trip to the NHL All-Star Game.

Now the big guy is going to have his hands full at home. As Scott showed over All-Star weekend, he might be an enforcer by trade, but he’s really just a 6-foot-8 teddy bear.

Scott, who was traded from the Arizona Coyotes to the Montreal Canadiens and promptly sent to the minors just three weeks before the All-Star Game, is being given time to be with his family by his new club. As Scott told NBC Sports Network in an interview earlier in the week, the St. John’s IceCaps told Scott to take all the time he needs before rejoining the club in Newfoundland.

On top of all of this, Scott and his family also moved back into their newly renovated home in Traverse City, Mich., and the big guy is apparently already getting endorsement offers and people talking to him about movie deals. Things are going pretty well for the big fella. I bet his family is very proud of him.
