The NHL Daily Fix is your morning wakeup call, with news and notes for the day's hockey action.

Morning buzz

Happy 85th birthday to Mr. Hockey, Gordie Howe. Watch as a bunch of players congratulate and thank Howe for all that he has done. It's also Pavel Bure's birthday. Not a bad 1-2 punch.

Taylor Hall not only beat Wayne Gretzky's Oilers franchise record for the fastest hat trick on Saturday night, he smashed it, scoring three goals almost five minutes faster than Gretzky did in Edmonton. Not a bad night. (Oilers)

Consider this is also Easter. Here's a small story on Zenon Konopka and his bunny. Yes, Konopka has a bunny. (NHLPA)

This is kind of unthinkable, but what would the Canucks do if the Sedin twins left Vancouver? (The Province)

The Dallas Stars have a pretty important couple of games coming up. As part of the West logjam, they are all pretty important from here on out, though. (The Dallas Morning News)

The temperature in the Rangers' room is a bit hot these days, but John Tortorella and Marian Gaborik both shrugged off a heated discussion that they had in practice. What a season this is turning out to be in New York. (NY Post)

Who is the Flyers' best player? The answer is probably still Claude Giroux, but Jakub Voracek isn't far behind. Really. (Broad Street Hockey)

The late edition of Coach's Corner on Saturday night had Don Cherry and Ron McLean being visited by Nazem Kadri, Colton Orr and Frazer McLaren. Of course, Cherry, who has been as big a backer of Kadri as anybody over the years, planted a big wet one on Kadri's cheek. Yes, the Leafs are actually playing well, and this is the result.
